Transmission overview
Transmission is a fast, easy, and free multi-platform BitTorrent client.
Transmission sets initial preferences so things "just work", while advanced features like watch directories, bad peer blocking, and the Web interface can be configured with just a few clicks. It supports full encryption, file selection, a Web-based interface, groups, peer exchange, automatic port forwarding, webseeds, watch directories, tracker editing, global and per-torrent speed limits, and more.
Its code is freely available online and is licensed under either the GNU Public License v2 or the MIT License. The development team welcomes anyone who is interested in contributing code, documentation, translations, or other help.

Transmission folks have yet to fix the "Sort By Que." Apparently mo one uses this function but a couple of us. 8 months and nothing. Client is dead to me.

For BT clients, macOS really has just two choices, qBittorrent and Transmission. Transmission I no longer support because of their snarky customer attitude. qBittorrent is mostly wonderful, has great support and responsiveness to bugs, except on macOS, only because of the lack of mac developers, not because of lack of desire to keep it updated. So I have resorted to running qBittorrent for Linux using Linux virtual machines on Apple Silicon. Stable, fast, plus because it is a VM and Linux, I'm not too concerned about downloading malware etc, because I simply reset the VM after each use, and, well, it's Linux. I use Parallels and VirtualBuddy for creating virtual machines. Parallels is paid, and that's okay because I have to run Windows 11 ARM VMs. VirtualBuddy is absolutely free, and supports macOS and Linux virtual machines (no Windows). I've had no issues running VPN software within virtual machines (you should always use a VPN with a torrent client.).
Keeping an eye on a new torrent program, Harbor. Long way to go, bare bones, no bells whistles, but very promising if the developer keeps it up, open source, Swift, macOS native, and free. Look up Harbor here on MU.

I take everything nice I said about this crap, It's unstable as hell in Tahoe. The Visual Interface is all over the place... garbage.

After 3 friggin' years they finally released a new version... and they seem to have fixed the "Sort By" function. Seems to work great... Three-friggin'-Years... sigh.
Just FYI: The Tech guys over at their forum and serious jerks. Rude, condescending, smug little turds with delusions of adequacy... and it only took them 3 years to fix a simple problem. Priorities, I guess.

I abandoned Tran long ago. As noted by others, the condescending (disrespectful to users) attitude on the forums, lack of action on bugs, too long between releases. If multiplatform and free are important to you, suggest qBittorrent. qBittorrent = Active development, highly customizable, FAST, regular updates (granted Mac development lags, due to lack of Mac developers, but not lack of intent). And, oh yes, qBittorrent knows how to freakin sort.
