Losing Teeth

Carson finally lost another tooth!  This is only his 3rd tooth, he lost the first two last year, the first one a few days before 1st grade, and the other one a few months later. I love that he didn't even know it was loose. We were on our way to Grandma's house and he was eating an apple. The first bite he realized it was about to come out. He wiggled it in the car the whole way and finally got it out right after we arrived at her house. He is pretty excited for the tooth fairy to come and earn some cash! ;)
I am excited because he grinds his teeth, so those two adult teeth he has are getting littler because they are the biggest ones by far!

First Day of School 2015

School started today! August 12, 2015.

I managed to take over 100 pictures this morning. Wouldn't want to miss anything! Here they are, the boys ready to go. Hudson 5 years old, Kindergarten. Porter, 6 years old, 1st Grade. Carson, 7 years old, 2nd Grade. They are excited and ready. They were all a little nervouse and Hudson was a little bit scared. But they did wake up extra early and were ready to get dressed for school immediately.
We had to wake up Emma a few hours early so she could help send them off and be in some pictures! We bought Hudson this special backpack to help him not be so anxious about school and to be excited. It worked, the kid loved it and has been wearing it around the house asking what day school starts. His oldest nephew has the same backpack and when Hudson found that out, he smiled from ear to ear. Also, the boys have large feet. Carson is in a men's size now! What?! He is only 7.

Porter and Hudson sat together on the bus, right behind Carson and his friend. Porter was showing Hudson that before the bus leaves, he always says "I love you" in sign language. Perfect thing to show his brother! Love it!

Overall I was excited for the kids to start a new year. I was of course a teenie bit sad. Hudson has felt like my baby for so long. He just doesn't seem big enough for Kindergarten. And I know how he feels being so shy. So I was pretty nervous for him. I know he will make friends, he does that everywhere he goes. Porter cant decide if he loves school or hates it, so I really try to put sweet notes in his lunch more often and make sure to tell him how awesome he is. Because school really deflates his self confidence. :(  And Carson, I hope he doesn't ask the teacher questions all. day. long. Like he does at home. That kid LOVES to learn!
I hope they love their teachers and their classes.  While I enjoy some one-on-one Emma time. That hasnt happened in over 6 years!

This kid is a pretty awesome kid.  He has been talking in complete sentences for as long as I can remember. He has always been very particular about the things that he likes, and able to express it.
This year, turning 4, his latest obsession is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Like everything else that he becomes obsessed with we aren't exactly sure how it all starts.  He used to quiz himself on their names, weapons and colors.  Now he can say them all before you blink. So it seemed fitting to have a Ninja turtle themed party.  Everything that he asked for this year was related to that anyway.
We were in Charleston, IL visiting my family when his birthday came.  He is a lucky kid, being able to celebrate it with a bunch of cousins, one who is really into TMNT too!
The 'ninja' cupcakes, as he calls them, were Hudson approved. He told me he had a good birthday but next time he just wants to have a party at home without all of the people.  I think all of those people talking to him and asking him questions all day really stressed him out.

Picture overload:
