Courtney's FCCLA

Today, I was thinking how lucky I am in general to have such a great family. I then realized I failed to post how proud I am of Courtney and her recent accomplishment at the FCCLA competition.

Over the last several months I have watched this wonderful young lady work very hard to document and put together a presentation on career investigation. Needless to say because most of you know already Courtney took the championship at her competition and now gets to go to Tennessee this summer to compete. If any of you have any extra cash please send her way, she needs it.

Courtney, I just want you to know how proud I am to be your Dad! You are a terrific young woman and I love you very much. I love you because of the person you are, not because of your many accomplishments but simply because of who you are.

I love to tease you, but know that it is only because I love you and want to be close to you!

Love Dad

19 years and still going strong!! . . . . . . .

Wow!! Time flies . . . Dawn and I just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. I'm not great at the blog thing but this is one event worth talking about. I honestly cannot believe it has been 19 years. Wow, that must mean I am getting old. I'm still convinced the grey hair in my beard is blonde but that's another subject for another time.

Dawn is my soul-mate, and am so grateful to have her in my life. She is a wonderful Mother to our kids, she is my best friend, and has put up with a lot of my garbage over the years. We have now been together longer than we have been without each other. It's difficult to remember a time without her . . . it seems like another life.

I appreciate her love and support. We have had our ups, downs, and bumps in the road but I wouldn't trade a single day!!

I love you LOTS Babe!!! We have so much in front of us and I look forward to every step!!

Raingutter Regatta

Image
Spencer and I have been putting together a custom built OCC chopper rain gutter racer boat for his Cub Scout's Raingutter Regatta.

Spencer was funny, he kept telling me . . . . "I'm scared . . . I just don't want to lose." "Oh Spencer, it will be fun" . . "I know, but I need to make sure I beat someone."

Well, he ended up taking first place. He lost only one time. I wonder where he gets his competitiveness from. . . . Dawn!!!

Killin' or Missin' . . . . Still Fun!

We went Pheasant hunting on Saturday with Grandpa Al and had lots of fun. Parker, Spencer, Dad and I took a day trip to Cache Valley to shoot, snort, and scratch. We missed more than we hit but still had a great time.

Best shot of the day was made by Dad. Shot was at least 50 yards out and down it went. Some guy's dogs hunting next to us even picked it up for him. I was surprised to see the bird go down. Nice Shot!!

Best "crap your pants" moment of the day is when Parker scared up a hen and still shot at it. Good thing he missed . . . . funny what nerves will do to you. Another moment Parker had like that was pushing through thick brush when he stepped into an irrigation hole and down he went.

Best chase of the day is turned in by me. I winged a pheasant, when I tried to pick it up it took off and the chase was on. I felt like Rocky Balboa chasing the chicken. Even trampled through mud and water to get the stupid thing. Poked my eye running through weeds and other garbage.

Most consistent shooter of the day was Spencer. He rarely missed hitting the Mountain Dew bottle and corn stalks. Great job Spencer!

Best treat of the day was the devils food cookies.

Most annoying moment was Dad snoring on the drive home!!!!!

We had a really good time. Thanks Dad for arranging the trip!
