Hi, I'm Alden — a third-year Computer Science student at the University of Adelaide, majoring in Artificial Intelligence. I work as an Undergraduate Researcher at AIML on Human Motion Synthesis, and I love building practical things at the intersection of research and software.
Outside the lab, you'll find me cycling, working out, or tinkering with new technologies.

Investigating generative models to synthesise realistic human motion sequences.
Combining data streams from multiple motion sensors for enhanced body tracking.

Loose pages from a commonplace book — thoughts, half-formed essays, and the small things worth keeping in the margin.
Every paper I read in my first month at AIML felt like a closed door — equations I couldn't yet hear, results that read like rumour. Then one afternoon I gave up on understanding and started copying out, by hand, the bits I didn't.
Marginalia is the slow accretion of those questions. A page held open so they don't drift away.
A body in motion is, briefly, a curve. Diffusion learns the curves; the real trick is teaching it which curves a person would actually walk.

Dear Reader,
Should you wish to begin a conversation — about a project, a research idea, or simply to say hello — please write. I'd be delighted to hear from you.
