    Absolutely abhorrent. Simply, if the Ugandan government goes through with ressurecting this law, the UK should immediately end the £100 million it gives in aid annually, and similarly the USA should exclude Uganda from AGOA. independent.co.uk/news/world/afr…

    People who live in the most economically free quartile of nations have an average income more than seven times higher than those in the most illiberal societies ($40,376 and $5,649 respectively).

    I know this is a bit of meme but it's pretty widespread. So many Ukrainian refugees we know, while thankful for British hospitality, have been appalled by UK housing conditions and costs, so headed back home.

    Between 2008-2018, the number of people living in extreme poverty declined by more than 576 million. That's 57 million per year. 158,000 people per day. 109 people per minute.
