💡💻📱 Quick Friday tip! Highlight some code in Xcode, hold down Shift then type a quotation mark; or an opening parenthesis; or an opening curly brace; or an opening square bracket. This automatically wraps your highlighted code in the character you typed. 💫 #iOSdev #Xcode

💡💻📱 Quick Friday tip! Instead of importing an entire framework, did you know you can specify a struct or class? ⚡️ #SwiftLang #iOSdev #SwiftUI

I lost my job today. Any help would mean the world to me 🙏🏽(DMs are open) - First opened Xcode in 2012; Obj-c - Swift since 2016 - SwiftUI since 2019 - Eye for detail - Computer Science degree (fwiw) - I actually have to be remote & I can’t relocate I appreciate you all! 🩷

⚡️ Quick Friday Tip ⚡️ ✅ An enum can conform to `View` in #SwiftUI. Play around with it and see if it fits your needs! (Bonus tip: add `Hashable` conformance to the same enum for a *very* interesting approach to navigation in iOS 16 SwiftUI! 😃 Try it out!) #SwiftLang
A code screenshot of an example enum conforming to SwiftUI’s View protocol. It implements the body by switching on self and returning a different SwiftUI view for each enum case.

⚡️💡💻📱 Quick Friday tip! In Xcode, the keyboard shortcut command + J will highlight your active editor pane and allow you to move to another pane with the arrow keys ⬅️➡️⬆️⬇️ then make it active by pressing return.😃 #iOSdev #Xcode #SwiftUI

💡💻📱 Quick Friday tip! Move your lines of code up & down (magic): Command + Option + open/close brackets [ ] To change the shortcut: Xcode Preferences > Key Bindings > filter "move line" > double-click the Key & change it. I prefer Command + Option + ↑ ↓ #iOSdev #Xcode

💡💻📱 Quick Friday tip! Reading large numbers in code can be difficult, but you can actually use underscores _ for readability. 🔍 #SwiftLang #iOSdev #SwiftUI

If you have an app on the App Store & you purposefully neglect it because "It's just a little app that doesn't do much" -- then I would challenge you to switch your mindset and try to treat it as a little business. See how you can improve it. Clean up the code. Update that app!

⚡️ Quick Friday tip ⚡️ There's a pitfall I see people fall into often when using the `overlay` modifier in #SwiftUI. In this short little video, I'll show the pitfall and how you can avoid it. Then you can watch me dance around for a second. Ok? Ok. 👋🏽 #iOSdev

💡💻 Quick Friday tip! In #Xcode, when you're working on a specific file and you need to quickly locate it in the Project Navigator (and perhaps your project has WAY more files than shown in this screenshot), you can press Command + Shift + J to magically jump to it. #iOSdev

⚡️💡💻📱 Quick Friday tip! In #SwiftUI, remember you’re not in UIKit land anymore. So if you want to make a colored rectangle—for example—you don’t have to make a Rectangle() and color it. Instead, simply use Color. You can size it, set a corner radius, etc. ✨😃 #iOSdev
SwiftUI code sample of applying modifiers to the SwiftUI Color view
Example output from the code snippet. Blue square with an orange border with a 10 point corner radius.
