Freelance journo for lots of great places like Ars Technica, MotorTrend, and The Guardian. I dig tech and autos. Fortune once called me the Nicest Guy in Tech.
- Einstein didn't leave for his Princeton office until about 10:30am, after an hour-long breakfast, came home in the afternoon for a nap, then was home again for dinner by 6:30. He aimed for 10 hours of sleep every night.Replying to @elonmuskThere are way easier places to work, but nobody ever changed the world on 40 hours a week
00:00- EVs get a bad rap for being terrible winter cars, but I had to share this amazing feature on the @LucidMotors Air GT I'm testing this week. It deploys heated washer fluid slowly to melt ice, saving you from having to scrape! It worked remarkably well on this morning's frost.
00:00 - Tesla's launched its brand-new, 250 kW Superchargers, but more interestingly its updating the software of the Model 3 to optimize battery temperature as it approaches a charging station to ensure maximal charging speeds. More details here: roadshow.co/PU8qlD via @Roadshow
- Stumbled across this chair online today. I find its middle-management, aspirational evil overlord aesthetic oddly chilling.
- Really disappointed by my colleagues at so many pubs who are dismissing the Cybertruck because it looks weird. Many of these same colleagues spent this entire week lamenting an industry that is churning out samey, half-assed crossover SUVs. I'll take weird over anonymous.
- For the first time in my automotive career I'm outright recommending you do not buy a car. Our Model Y is flawed. For the why, I encourage you to read the full review. Then, before you attack me for being anti-Tesla, I encourage you to read this thread.
- Tesla is effectively disabling FSD beta, temporarily. I think it's really great of every motorist in the US to agree to help Tesla beta test software that could literally kill them.Replying to @elonmuskSeeing some issues with 10.3, so rolling back to 10.2 temporarily. Please note, this is to be expected with beta software. It is impossible to test all hardware configs in all conditions with internal QA, hence public beta.

- Bowser hasn't been getting around too well lately but really wanted to go for a walk in the woods today. Poor dude made it out there but needed a little help getting back. instagr.am/p/CNV5FYWlJg6/
- This record has stood since 1999, set by a Formula One car. Amazing to think that we're still just at the beginning of figuring out EV performance.
