生態：夜行性であり、草や葉を主食とする。基本的に単独で生活するが、草原で生息するシロサイは小さな群れをつくることがある。雄は通常、縄張りを持ち、尿でマーキングすることで縄張りを主張する。火を見ると消す習性があるものがいるために｢森の消防士｣とも呼ばれる。（Wikipediaより）
