Kindergarten--week 34

They learned about flowers and parts of a flower this week:

They have been writing more sentences. I'm just amazed at how much Hannah has improved from the beginning of the year to now!

This one says "My grandma and me took my dog to the park"
Image
This says "Oh baby, oh baby, I love you!"

Here are some more things she drew at school:

They also had their kindergarten spring concert. Hannah was so nervous and I was nervous for her. Last year during her 4K Christmas program she cried. :( I was worried about a repeat of last year but she did great! I was so proud of her. The theme of the concert was a pajamas party. :)

They had pictures of the kids all around in their pjs :) It was so cute. Here is Hannah's:

We went out for ice cream afterwards :)

The kids also gave flowers to their moms for Mother's Day with butterflies in their hand prints. It was SO cute:

Kindergarten--week 33

The family project this week was to make a sea creature. This was kind of a panic project as I realized the night before that we had to make one. Yikes! So we hurried and used lollipops and styrofoam plates. Not to creative but fast. :)

More work with numbers:

Hannah made a hippo. I asked her to explain it to me. She said "we made it out of paper and cut out the shapes and writed my name with marker" :)

They learned about vegetables and how they grow in the ground:

Hannah made some projects for me and my new office. She had the class sign a card for me. So sweet!

She even got a love note from a classmate....awwww:

This was also a big week for Hannah as she lost her fourth tooth!

There were some tears when she lost her tooth. Her school gives the students a "tooth necklace" if they lose their tooth at school. That was her goal all year. Well, her tooth was so loose and we were so certain she would lose her tooth at school the next day. As she was brushing her teeth the night before school, she lost it. She was crying because she wouldn't get a tooth necklace. "Mommy, I was so close!". :(

But her sweet teacher and office staff pulled through for her and still gave her a tooth necklace. She was in seventh heaven! I'm so grateful for the awesome teachers and staff there.

I'm honestly not sure what she was trying to draw here...maybe something peeing? :)

Hannah told me this was supposed to be a butterfly but she didn't quite get it done.

This week was focusing on the Earth and how to make it a better place. They did some things around that subject:
Image
Image
This says "I can help the Earth by.....off the water and helping people". She meant to say turn off the water like when she is brushing her teeth :)

This is a unicorn :)

They had an Old McDonald book where they had to fill in the letters that were missing. As you can see she didn't get too far. She can be a bit of a rebel :)

This month the project was to make a flower at home. I'm really honestly not that creative and this was mostly Hannah's idea. I think it was a great idea! We took a plate and some paint chips from Menards along with an empty paper towel roll and made up a flower. :)
