One Month Old

Wow! I can't believe our little Alyvia is a month old already! It has gone by way too fast. She had grown so much and has blessed our lives endlessly. I've been reading some blogs lately where the fetus may or may not make it and will probably have something wrong if it does. I am so grateful for a healthy, beautiful, perfect baby girl. We love her so much! She already has a personality all to herself.

She hates sleeping on her back and will only last maybe ten minutes cause she'll startle herself awake. Which brings me to her next thing her hates...being swaddled. She'll wriggle and sworm until she's worked those little hand free. She likes her hands where she can suck on them. This series of pictures shows what happens daily during her naps. She is so strong! I'm not sure if she should be able to do this at only a month long but she's awesome!

We are having so much fun with her. She loves going to Manny's games. She does so well! She gets passed around our Borah Family as soon as I get there that I end up not holding her the entire night. Everyone loves her and has been so good to us. We are loving every minute with her.

The First of Many

While my mom was in Boise we were able to do newborns of Alyvia. She did so good and was such a good poser for grandma. I hope she is always so cooperative cause I'm sure she will have many more opportunities for grandma to photograph her cute face. Here are some of my favorites.

Fastest Three Weeks of Our Lives

I don't know how many times I've sat down to write a post...somehow my attention gets distracted by a now seven pound ball of hair. Life has changed so much for Manny and I in the last three weeks. We can't believe how much we love her.Which is good cause getting up in the middle of the night to nurse doesn't seem like that big of deal when you love something so much.

My contractions started and water broke Monday night around 10:15. They hit hard and fast. They were lasting about 30 seconds every two minutes or so. Manny and I started get everything ready to go the the hospital. When it came time for Manny to clean Lilly's litter box, we didn't have any litter to change it out with so off we Walmart we went. It took us awhile cause I had to stop and breath every 2 minutes. We headed to the hospital at 1230, got checked in, and hooked up. My night nurse wasn't very good. She was really rough and always had to have someone check her work. I got my epidural at 4 and then all was good. My mom and Tren got to Boise at 9ish. We were glad to have them there. At ten I started pushing and by 10:29 our little Alyvia had arrived. All 6 pounds 12 ounces of her.

Our nurse we had in the morning...she was great
Things I've learned in the past weeks include: One of the joys of being a mother is you never have a clean shirt on. It's really hard getting two people ready and getting out of the house on time. Projects never get done in the same day. People are lots nicer and want to talk to you more when you have a baby.

Week 40

Sunday December 25- Monday December 27

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Monday December 27: I felt really good all day, went to Borah to help Manny grade papers and put in a little work and even made dinner. Manny thought it would good idea if we went for a walk. We we bundled up and took a walk around our block. I thought I was going to die. My abdomen hurt so bad it took us forever to get back home. When we got home I laid down a for a little and then took a bath. Started feeling normal again and then the contractions started. I'll post later what happened after that. We're very excited for her to be here and couldn't be more happy!

WISDOM BY TY: If still working and your due date has come and gone, lie. Tell people your due date is like a week later. It will save you lots of weird/dirty/confused looks, questions, and just conversation you'd like to avoid.

Week 38 & 39

Sunday December 11-Saturday December 17

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Wednesday December 14: Appointment Day. Still dilated at a 1, 80% effaced, but she is at -2 station. Heartbeat 140 and gained 2 pounds. Only 15 pounds gained so far...so proud of myself.

Thursday December 15: Finished the car seat canopy. Everything is coming together. Slowly by surely.

Saturday December 18: Finally finished the dresser and was able to put everything in it. The little one can finally come home to a clean room!

Sunday December 18-Saturday December 24

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Monday December 19: Manny and I had a date night. We figured this would be the last chance we would get befor the little one comes. We got dinner, did a little Christmas shopping, went to Sherlock Holmes, grabbed hot chocolate, and checked out some Christmas lights. We were glad we were able to spend some quality time with each other.

Wednesday December 21: Appointment Day. Still only at a 1, 90% effaced and almost at a -1 station. Heartbeat 145 and gained another 2 pounds. We set up an induction appointment for January 4, yes my doctor is letting me go 2 weeks over. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

Friday December 23: Due date came and went, still no baby. I did passed my mucus plug though. Probably a little too much information for the average reader, but this blog is for me and let's face it when you're pregnant there is no such thing as privacy and personal space.

Saturday December 24: I had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Manny and I decided it was be better if we had our Christmas dinner Christmas Eve. Manny was so good went grocery shopping, put the ham in the oven, and set out the rolls to raise. I only had to do a few things to get dinner ready when I got home from work. It was a fantastic dinner. We were missing our families though.

WISDOM BY TY: No matter how well you know someone or how long ago it was, they all want to tell you their pregnant story, and it's always better than yours. Just smile and nod and eventually they will go away.

Week 37

Sunday December 4-Saturday December 10

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Tuesday December 6: Appointment Day. Heartbeat 149, uterus is still 34", and gained one pound. Manny is all worried and wanted to have the doctor check me. So she did and was very proud of my progress. I'm dilated to a 1, 80% effaced, and the little one's head is at -3. I'm proud of myself too!

Wednesday December 7: Finally finished the bedding for the crib. Again, proud of myself for my progress.  During the entire sewing process I only had one breakdown where I had to call my mom to tell her "I quit." Here are the links for the tutorials for the crib bumpers, crib skirt, and fitted sheet. Now I just have the dresser and carseat canopy to finish. Hopefully I can get them done in the next two weeks!
