Watching this video gave Lane a serious laugh attack. Especially when he says two and points at the ceiling. It's my favorite part too.

New Arrival
A week ago my mom wanted to take a picture of my pregnant belly. When Lane saw, he wanted to join in the photo shoot. I'm glad we took the pictures because I had taken very few during my pregnancy and I had no idea she would be making her arrival in just three days, which was 4 weeks before her due date.
She's doing really well and very healthy despite being early. She was 5 pounds 9 ounces and we named her Ember Dezzie. For more of the story of her arrival visit my sister Shelly's blog. But here are some pictures.
This is Lane's hand. I think it shows how small she is.

Hello
Shelly said she's tired of seeing Tony's legs when she visits my blog so I'm posting some pics from the children's museum. Pictures taken by grandma Shirlene.
He was insistent on filling his cart with crackers.
He called it an apple so this is me explaining that this is not an apple. Tis a PINEapple. He didn't seem to believe me.
When we were finished playing we went to lunch across the street. While there, we spotted Lane's other grandma drive by. What are the odds?
The end.

And We're Moved!
It is important that I don't blog very often. I can't tell you why, but trust me, it is definitely not out of laziness.
I will give an individualized update of what is happening in our family since the move. I'll start with the husband.
Tony is really enjoying his new job. (I am too because he's home a little earlier most days and I'm actually allowed to visit him at his office) The only downside about his job is they encourage golfing and Tony is not a fan...at least not yet. Hopefully they will do what I could not and convince him that golf is fun.
Recently Tony spent the day out in the sun at a work retreat and neglected to wear sunscreen. Now, sunscreen is not something Tony ever wears. Even on his mission in Mexico he went without it and he tells me he was a nice shade of red the entire two years. I still nag him about it, even though he just rolls his eyes at me and continues his non sunscreen wearing ways. However, after this last sun burn, I no longer need to nag. Take a look. (Although a picture cannot do it justice.)
He wore shorts for the next few days following the burn, but he had to wear pants when he returned to work and he quickly developed blisters. His legs were very swollen, he couldn't sleep for the first few nights, moving was painful, standing was painful, and it took almost a week before something could touch his legs without causing him severe pain. He said it hurt all the way to his bones.
Lesson learned.
(If you're wondering about the strange light at the top of this picture, its just my hair that fell in front of the camera.)
Lane seems to be enjoying his new surroundings. There are lots of fun parks here and his cousins live only a block away.
This is Lanes favorite toy at a park we frequent. This shovel is not easy to operate. I was shocked that Lane was strong enough to pull the levers back. He could probably beat me if we arm wrestled. Maybe I'll try it.
As for me...not much to tell. We've started house shopping so I spend a lot of time looking at houses, but so far, no luck. It's frustrating because I'm ready to be done with apartment living, but I'm sure we'll find the right one eventually. Lane would probably disagree with me because he loves running through strangers houses and the constant presense of children that live at our complex, and he loves walking over to see aunt Shelly every morning.
Over all, life is good.

And we're moving
We've been in Beaverton for two years and now it's time to say goodbye. I was seven months pregnant when we moved here and now the kid is 1.5. It took a while but I've come to enjoy this area, especially because we've made so many memories here with Lane. However,Tony has never really felt at home here in the big city which has been the biggest motivation for us moving. He will be starting with a different construction company in early June and I am very excited for him and the move. Tri-Cities here we come!
Happy Mother's Day!!
I'm posting some pictures of Lane for mother's day because what's better than pictures of Lane? Maybe chocolate, but it's hard to beat chocolate.
My mom's pretty great. She's not afraid to try new things and she's fashionable and smart and talented at everthing she does (don't even try to beat her at dr.mario). I also love that she's super laid back because I can always call her when I need to relax because I'm stressing out about something, which is pretty much all the time and mostly because of this guy.
I also have to mention my mother-in-law because she is also super great. She's another woman and mother that I try to be like. Lane scored in the grandma department for sure!!
