July Bishopric Message

Elder Lance B. Wickman states; "This life is not so much a time for getting and accumulating as it is a time for giving and becoming. Mortality is the battlefield upon which justice and mercy meet. But they need not meet as adversaries, for they are reconciled in the Atonement of Jesus Christ for all who wisely use Today."

The impressions that come from this quote, should motivate us to re prioritize our thoughts and actions. Oft times we are found focused inward on personal wants and needs, but hopefully soon realize that an outward focus to others provides a safe harbor and sure foundation of who we really are. All happiness is centered in the Atonement of Jesus Christ who provides us direction and balance in our lives to find success both spiritually and temporally. As we wisely us Today as stated by Elder Wickman, or future will be filled with appreciation for the past and a bright hope for tomorrow.

June Bishopric Message

Now Is the Time

"Now, my brethren and sisters, the time has come for us to stand a little taller, to lift our eyes and stretch our minds to a greater comprehension and understanding of the grand millennial mission of this The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is a season to be strong. It is a time to move forward without hesitation, knowing well the meaning, the breadth, and the importance of our mission. It is a time to do what is right regardless of the consequences that might follow. It is a time to be found keeping the commandments. It is a season to reach out with kindness and love to those in distress and to those who are wandering in darkness and pain. It is a time to be considerate and good, decent and courteous toward one another in all of our relationships. In other words, to become more Christlike."

Gordon B. Hinckley, "This Is the Work of the Master," Ensign, May 1995, 71

My dear brothers and sisters, now is the time for us to choose. Will we follow our Savior Jesus Christ, keep his commandments, and qualify ourselves to receive His mercy and blessings that He so desires to shower upon us? Or will we choose some other way? There is only one way to happiness and fulfillment. He is the Way. Every other way, any other way, whatever other way is madness.

May we follow Him and keep His commandments. It is the only intelligent thing to do.

May the Lord bless us with the courage to continue, the wisdom to see with our eyes and hear with our ears. May he bless us with the capacity to love and lift those around us as well as ourselves. For he who will lose his life will find it, and he who will seek his own way of life will lose everything. May we choose wisely and well, for that will make all the difference

The Great Divide

Two wards split into 3 wards - U32 right in the middle with members from the "old" 32nd and 13th wards. Welcome to the ward!
President Smith said it well, "Think of every change in life as an opportunity to see an answer to a prayer."

May Bishopric Message

As we ponder the nature of our existence, let us remember the pure doctrine that distills upon each of us that we are sons and daughters of God. If each of us kneel and petition our loving Heavenly Father for confirmation of this principle, we will eventually, if not immediately, find peace to our souls, love in our hearts and a desire to do better in our personal lives and provide service in the lives of others. This principle has been seen in the eyes and actions of the members of U32. We have witness selfless acts and heard of anonymous service that have blessed individuals and families. We have witnessed the blessings of increased spirituality and have witnessed the blessing of increased spirituality and a desire to serve more in the temples of the Lord. We have noticed a sincere desire for unity and delight when the ward gathers at events and activities and genuinely enjoys being together. As our Father and Savior smile down upon us and as we smile back with submission to their will and obedience to their commandments, the calmness and assurance of a bright future will surround us.

Elder Marvin J. Ashton states the following: "I recommend you come to know your Father in Heaven. Come to love Him. Always remember that He loves you and will give you guidance and support if you will but give Him the chance. Include Him in your decision making. Include Him in you heartaches and heartbreaks. Include Him when you take inventory of your personal worth."

All our love and support,
Your U32 Bishopric
