About the challenge
Welcome to the UF Claude Builder Club 3-Hour Hackathon!
This fast-paced, in-person event challenges University of Florida students to build creative AI projects using Anthropic’s Claude tools — all in just three hours.

When: Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM EST
Where: University of Florida – Cascades
Hosted by: UF Claude Builder Club

Participants can work solo or in teams of up to 4. The goal is simple — prototype something awesome with Claude: chat apps, assistants, automations, or anything innovative.

Event Schedule
• 1:30 PM – Check-in & setup
• 2:00 PM – Kickoff & hacking begins
• 4:30 PM – Project submissions due
• 4:45 PM – Judging & demos
• 5:00 PM – Winners announced 🎉

 

All experience levels are welcome — bring your creativity, laptop, and UF spirit!

Requirements

What to Build
• Create an AI-powered project using Claude or any other Anthropic API/tool.
• Use any frameworks, datasets, or integrations you like.
• Work individually or in teams of up to 4 UF students.

 

What to Submit
• A link to your working demo or prototype (GitHub repo, hosted site, or Colab).
• A short project description (under 250 words).
• Optional: 2-minute demo video explaining your build and Claude integration.

Judging Criteria

  • Creativity
    How original or innovative is the idea? Does it show fresh thinking or a clever use of Claude?
  • Technical Execution
    How well-built is the project? Does it function as intended, and does the team show solid technical ability within the 3-hour timeframe?
  • Use of Claude
    How effectively and meaningfully does the project use Claude or another Anthropic tool?
  • Presentation & Demo Quality
    Was the demo clear, engaging, and easy to understand? Did the team communicate their idea effectively?
