The Victorian Studies concentration guides students in their exploration of the politics, culture, and society of Britain and the United States in the 19th century, a period during which both countries were undergoing massive expansion and change. Grounded in the significant relationship between history and literature, the concentration enables majors to plan their study around specific topics in these areas and in such diverse fields as economics, the history of science, anthropology, art history and visual culture, and photography.
