According to our last year’s experience, we will get exhausted by vim density of the all talks.
Let’s check them in order to get the nice experience!

We have to work hard on the day, but read these well so that we would like to hear the talks also.

About Lightning Talks

• Who can submit CFP: All attendees of VimConf 2018
  • Those who purchased an admission ticket
  • Those who have sponsor’s ticket, speaker of other session and VimConf 2018 staff.
• Topic: Every Vim related topic is welcomed. Practicalities, pure technical pursuit, gaming on Vim etc.
• Slide language: English only
• Talk language: English or Japanese
• Simultaneous interpretation is NOT provided
• Must finish talk strictly within 5 minutes(We force finish at 5min).
• Must agree and adhere to the Code of Conduct

Talk Selection Criteria

We, VimConf 2018 Staff, will decide the speakers considering several aspects(fun, informative, pioneering, matching in balance with other talks).

We will start selling VimConf 2018 tickets on Monday 2018-09-17 1:00PM JST.
You can purchase it on VimConf 2018 official site.

• Standard ticket JPY 12,000 (JPY 12,960 incl. tax)
  • One ticket per person to participate VimConf.
• Individual sponsor option JPY 5,000 (JPY 5,400 incl. tax)
  • This is to back up VimConf 2018.
  • This is not a ticket to participate VimConf! If you only have this ticket, you can’t join the VimConf 2018.
  • Unlimited amounts available. Please purchase it as many as you want!
  • Bonuses
    • Your name or arbitrary message within 15 letters, and arbitrary small image to show at the VimConf 2018 opening as individual sponsors
    • That arbitrary image to show at VimConf website https://vimconf.org/2018

We are going to call for lightning talk speakers! It will be 5 minutes short but variety of Vim (or non Vim) talks.
People who submit a proposal for lightning talks must get VimConf 2018 tickets (either early bird ticket or standard ticket) in advance.

We’ve closed the current call for talk proposals for VimConf 2018 at 11:00PM JST on 2018-08-13.

However, we extended the deadline until 2018-08-20 11:00PM JST. Please use the same online form to submit new ones. Note that we’ve already been reviewing existing ones that made it by the first deadline, so there will be little talk slots available.

On the other hand we haven’t start calling for 5 minutes lightning talks yet. It’ll be in a month.
