Special Forces vs. Bulldogs

This morning Dad helped the boys get all their gear on for their first game. The anticipation was killing us all. We were ready for game time after a month of practices.

Best Friends!

Mighty Mights have a zero quarter where the 1st year players get lots of experience. I'm a huge fan of zero quarter. That is where Court had most of his playing time last year against kids his own size:). Carter is #7. He had some great blocks.

Carter and teammate Alexander had a great hit on this defensive play. The first years set the tone for the game. The Bulldogs didn't move on offense and we scored on them.

Court is #8.

Court plays middle linebacker on D and he had several sacks today.

Ellie goes to school

Image

Today was Ellie's first day of school. She was a little nervous. You can't tell from her confident pictures here, but she was a little unsure of how things were going to go.Image
In the car she told me that she wanted me to walk her to the gate. The gate is as far as the parents get to go. Then you say goodbye and wave. I didn't want to walk to the gate. I didn't want anyone crying at the gate. Especially me. I wanted to drop her off and let the aide walk her and her cute carpool buddies to the gate.

Image
As we talked she decided that since she had her 2 buddies to walk her to the big scary gate that she'd be OK without me.

Image
Have you ever seen such cute kinders?

Image
So I pulled up to the curb and gave Ellie a quick hug and kiss and everyone hopped out of the car and the aide allowed me to take a quick picture of my cuties! Then the aide shut the van door and I was on my way and they were on theirs.

Ellie had a great day at school. Carpool dropped her off and she ran and knocked on the door and when I opened it she had a big smile on her face. That makes me happy:).

I wasn't sure whether I should cry or jump for joy. My baby isn't a baby. She's in kindergarten.

Sunday, June 5, 2011

It's fast Sunday. Court came to me and asked if he could have a cookie or fudgesickle after he ate some breakfast. I told him it was fast Sunday. He had already eaten breakfast...since I got up way after him and I didn't tell him about fast Sunday last night. He asked if he could still fast. Yes, yes you can!! Then I asked him if he was saying his prayers at night. He said yes and I asked if he was saying them every night. He said no, but most nights. I asked if he had said them last night and he said, "Yeah, I did, Carter reminded me so I did."

My boys are watching out for each other. I love it.

Hailey's first soccer tournament

Hailey had her first soccer tournament in North Phoenix on Saturday at Reach 11. I wish I would have taken a picture of the park because there are two parts to the park and we were on fields 11-18, but it was huge and all the fields were GREEN!!!! So pretty.

There were 3 divisions for this tournament. Gold, Silver and Bronze. Hailey's team played in the Silver.
Their first game was at 8 am Saturday, so that was an early morning. Hailey drove up with a friend and they picked her up at 6 am. We left at 6:45 and got there right before the game started. It took awhile for Hailey's team to get going and before we knew what happened we were down 0-3, after about 15 minutes. We finally started going and held them the rest of the game, but we never were able to get our offense going. Darn.Image
After her game we had 5 hours before her next game, so we went and saw Yogi Bear. Carter had thrown up about 1 am, so he wasn't feeling very well and I felt bad dragging him everywhere. BUT he was a trooper. We saw Yogi Bear in 3D, it was the first time my kids had seen 3D and as soon as Carter put his 3D glasses on he started giggling. It was so funny.

The second game was at 3:30, and we played hard. The other team was a very good team and probably shouldn't have been playing in the silver division, but their club was hosting the tournament;). Hailey's team did some good things. We lost 0-7.
Image
Even though they lost both their games I am still happy about the experience. We are starting to see Hailey get more competitive and not put up with other girls pushing her. She's so cute when she gets mad:).

Pine Wood Derby

Court had Pine Wood Derby this last Wednesday, January 8th. Court's Car is the GREEN MACHINE! Court and Jared had alot of fun making his car this year. As Usual we procrastinated and started it on Monday and weigh in was on Tuesday:). ImageAll the cars.
Image
Court won his first race. Lost his second. Won his third and lost his fourth. It was so fun to watch and quite nerve racking the first race...I was worried it would be super slow or something:) Glad it wasn't.

So fun! Can't wait for next year!!
