Locks of Love

Image
Today, Paul impulsively decided to cut his hair. He's been growing it out to donate to Locks of Love, so we measured it and it's long enough!! Since his hair is naturally curly, I straightened it. After that we put it in a ponytail, braided it, and chopped it off!! Here's the back of his hair when we cut the ponytail: Here's his braid: After we cut the braid, Mom cut Paul's hair in a new style, so here's a pic of her cutting his hair: Here's some pics of his new haircut!! I think he looks great! Mom cut it to be in the style of a "faux hawk." Basically his hair is all one length except for the middle top, which is longer. It's really cool looking. :)

Catching up

I haven't blogged in a while, so I'm going to talk about a lot that has happened in the last few weeks. First, my mom graduated on December 4 and we're all really proud of her. Here's a picture of her in her gown: The next day, December 5, Josh and I both had Christmas concerts at the art museum. Josh was performing for his school choir, and I was performing for the concert orchestra. Here's some pictures: For Christmas this year, we put lights on my Mom's house. I think they look nice, so here's some pictures: This past week, we all drove to Boise, Idaho to see Carolyn and her family and we stayed with our aunt Brenda and it was a lot of fun. I don't have my pictures uploaded so I'm not going to put any, but we all loved it. We acted out the Christmas story on Christmas Eve and it was really fun. Dad played King Harod in the play, and he randomly put my swimsuit on his head! It was really funny, so we took a picture. Here's Bob...

New Moon

We've seen New Moon two or three times, depending on who you refer to.  :)  :)  :)  And we love it!

Cute pumpkin

Image
This year for Halloween, Josh and I carved a pumpkin! We decided to give it a screaming mouth, rather than smiling. :) It was very fun to carve, and I think it's cute. Here it is:

Cute kids

Image
Yesterday, Maria, Will, and Rosie came over. We have these huge, flying crickets in our yard that are really annoying, and Josh and Will chased them around, caught them, and put them in a lunch bag. :) I took some cute pictures. Rosie kept hugging our fire hydrant. Maria said she loves them. Here's Will holding his bag of crickets: Here's Will holding an actual cricket: Here's Will and Rosie in their stroller right before they headed home: By the way, happy birthday, Carolyn!!!!!! We love you. :)

New Moon

Amy's excited for New Moon to come out, so that's why there's a countdown thing on the side. :)

Camping trip

Image
On Sunday at about 6, we left to go camping up in the Snowy Range area! It was me, Josh, Paul, and Mom. We set up our tent and crammed all of our sleeping bags in it. It was a pretty tight fit, but we managed. Then we built a fire with charcoal. When we got there, it had been raining, so everything was wet! Luckily, it stopped when we pulled in. We cooked tin foil dinners in the fire, though we forgot 2 of the 5 at home. When we went to bed, we were freezing cold! We got warmer as we got in our sleeping bags, but it was a very cold night. We woke up at about 6:30 and there was a weird dog hanging around our camp. It didn't even pay attention to us, it just dug holes. It was really strange. We had cold cereal for breakfast, and then we drove to the Medicine Bow Peak trailhead, where we met Bob. We hiked all the way up the mountain, and all the way down. It was grueling, and we were exhausted. Then we drove to Saratoga and ate at J.W. Hugus. Dad met us there, we ate lunch, and then d...

Disney cruise

Image
This past week, my Dad, Josh, Bob, Paul, and I went on a Disney cruise for Paul's senior year vacation. It was amazing. On the boat they have Pinocchio's Pizzeria which serves you pizza whenever you want it, Pluto's Doghouse which serves hamburgers and hot dogs and stuff like that, Goofy's Galley which serves fresh fruit, paninis, and wraps, and also a soft serve ice cream place and a beverage station. For dinner, you're assigned to a different restaurant every night: they have Animator's Palate, Parrot Cay (pronounced key), and Lumiere's. At Animator's Palate, everything is in black and white but there are pictures of Disney characters on the walls that turn into color and change during the meal. At Parrot Cay, they play Caribbean music and at Lumiere's, they have pictures from Beauty and the Beast on the wall, and fake roses in the chandelier and stuff like that. The food is very fancy and delicious, especially the dessert! We had the same two wait...

Surprise visit!

Image
A week or two ago, Maria called and said she, Will, and Rosie were coming to Laramie for a couple days for a house inspection (I think). They came over to our house to visit at night for a couple hours, then slept at their house, and we babysat Will and Rosie for a bit the next morning. It was wonderful to see them! Here's Rosie and my mom: I didn't take many pictures, but it was fun. :)

Making curtains

Image
At my mom's house, my room lets in a lot of light, so I can't sleep in too late because the sun wakes me up. So...we went shopping and got cute fabric to make curtains for my room! Here's me, cutting fabric: Here's Mom sewing the loops: Here's the finished product, hung up in my room! It was way fun and I love my curtains!
