UKs unique development hirerarchy, including a number of principal oversight organisations include Visit Britain, then Visit; Wales, Scotland, England and Touism NI. Visit England is restructuring tourism management in England by transitioning traditional Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) into accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEPs) to improve efficiency and strategic alignment. This initiative, arising from the 2021 de Bois Review, aims to create a stronger, more sustainable structure for tourism across the country, with LVEPs acting as key partners to the national tourist board. This gives raise to a greater need for consistent data and data management to base decisions.
