Harrison was SO excited about Halloween this year. He was very quick to decide that he wanted to dress up as Woody from Toy Story, and he had to look EXACTLY like Woody from Toy Story. Harrison is a man with a plan.
Thankfully I talked him out of the Disney store costume (hello?? 40 bucks for a jumpsuit that looks like jeans and a yellow shirt? seriously??) and convinced him that we could buy all of the pieces separate. He has a Woody action figure that he would show me on a daily basis to let me know what we needed: A hat, a vest, a sheriff badge, a bandanna, a belt, and boots. Every time we picked up an item he let me know, "We still need..."
When we finally got all of the different parts we tried it on, just to be sure it matched up with his action figure. We went down the list, hat - check, vest - check, boots - check... When I announced that he looked just like Woody and that he was a perfect match with his toy he was all grins for about 30 seconds until he realized, "Oh no... I don't have a pull string..."
Only Harrison would realize that his Woody costume didn't have a pull string. No worries, we added one.
Here is our little Sheriff Woody:
Yee-haw Cowboy!!
After Harrison decided that he would be Woody, he assigned each of us our Halloween costumes: Peter was to be Buzz Lightyear, Bridget was Jesse, and Mommy was given the role of Bullseye (the horse?! Lucky me...). Well, poor Harrison has lame-o parents that don't dress up, but we did make Bridget Jesse and that seemed to count for something.
You've never seen a little Jesse as cute as this one:
I mean seriously. She is CUTE.
Aunt Amy made Bridget's costume. AWESOME. Amy, we got so many compliments on this costume. It was so. ridiculously. cute. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making it. We LOVED it. Just look at the back:
SO DARLING. Amy, you are amazing.
More to come about our Halloween activities, but in the mean time,
Happy Halloween, ya'll!

Baby girls are FUN.
Bridget, my love...
(2 months old)
you are a good sport.
Thanks for letting your momma deck you out in bows, headbands, and hats with flowers. Do me a favor and don't get sick of it any time soon, okay?

Better luck next time
Cute matching outfits just beg for a photo shoot.
We tried in the front of the house, but it was just too sunny.
So we moved to the backyard.
It was all downhill from there.
You don't even want to see the other shots.
I really adore these outfits.
I WILL get a cute picture of these two wearing them if it's the last thing I do.
I hope it happens before it snows.
Stay tuned.

Bridget's Blessing Day
We took advantage of having both sets of grandparents in town to bless baby Bridget. Here's our little beauty in her blessing dress:

The proud big brother:
This little boy really, really loves his little sister.

Our cute little family:
Leslie's mom and dad were there,
and Peter's mom and dad were there,
but since Bridget was only 5 days old we decided to do a very small blessing at home with just the grandmas and grandpas and siblings that live close by. We missed having all of the aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends! Wish you all could have been there!
The Greenberg side that made it:
The Wride side:
Just for fun, how cute is this picture?? Love the way Peter is looking at Grandma Wride and she's looking at Bridget.
Bridget was nice and quiet for her blessing and Peter, of course, did a great job. It was a wonderful day!

Time for pre-school!
How handsome is this pre-schooler??
Yesterday was Harrison's first day of pre-school! He was SO excited. We've been talking about school for months now, and he was thrilled that it was finally time to go.

Here he is showing off his "totally awesome new backpack." Items inside: toilet paper (Harrison's class assignment was to stock the school's bathroom), a snack to share with the class (Harrison chose fruit snacks), and an 8 pack of crayons. You don't need much to go to pre-school.
All I really wanted was one cute picture outside of his school to document the big first day. One cute, smiling at the camera picture. Too much to ask? Apparently yes:

Oh well. It was a worthy effort. Lucky for him he's still pretty darn cute even if he's not smiling at the camera.
Day one was a big success! As excited as he was, I wasn't sure if he'd actually (willingly) go into the classroom the first day. He did! He looked a little nervous, but gave me a hug and a kiss and walked (very slowly) into his classroom with his teacher. Way to go, buddy!! The funny thing is, I have been crossing my fingers for months hoping he would be brave when it was time for school, but when the time came and he was Mr. Independent I was kind of sad that he didn't need me or cling to my leg for the first little bit. Totally ridiculous, but he has always been SO shy and SO clingy in new situations that it was weird to see him so ready to try something new. I kind of missed my baby! What a big boy. He did tell me on the drive to school, "Mommy, do you remember when I was in your tummy and then I came out and I was your little baby?? Now Bridget is your little baby and I'm getting big, big, big!!!" He's right, he IS getting big.
He was so proud to show off his first pre-school project:

He told me that he colored it all by himself with his purple dancing crayon. (Upon further questioning it appears that his teacher played Raffi music while they were coloring and his purple crayon liked it so much that it just had to dance.)
We are so proud of you Harrison! Hope you have a great year and that you love everything about pre-school!

Announcing...
Bridget Ellarie Wride
All this belly:
(on the way to the hospital!)
To get this teeny-tiny little girl.

Bridget was born on August 9th at 1:16pm, weighing in at 7 pounds 9 ounces, and was 19 3/4 inches long.
She is so small! Harrison was a 9 pound baby! Where did this 7 pounder come from?! Her features are very petite, making her look even smaller, and she is just a doll. We are so glad she is finally here! Harrison was probably happiest of all to welcome baby Bridget; that little boy ADORES his new sister. Here he is meeting her for the first time a few hours after she was born:
He wants to hold her, rock her, kiss her, and give her a binky all day long, every day. He tells us multiple times a day, "I think she likes me!!"

Here is Bridget all dressed up and ready to go home:
What a cutie! She is very calm and very peaceful, not a big crier, and a good sleeper. (Yay Bridget! Keep up the good work!)
Welcome to the world, baby Bridget! We are so happy that you have joined our family!

Big Brother
We took this video weeks ago and I keep forgetting to post it...
Now is as good a time as any because we have ONE week to go until the big ultrasound where we *hopefully* will get a peek at whether the new baby is a boy or a girl. Harrison is 100% convinced that this baby is a GIRL baby. He hasn't changed his mind since the first time we asked.
And yes, he wants to name the baby girl Brick. Lovely, no? Don't ask us where he got it, we have no idea. But he thinks he is SO funny when he suggests it and it makes me laugh every time.
So with one week to go, what's your vote - Boy or Girl?

This is Harrison.
On the blog you may know him as The World's Cutest 2 Year Old, or World's Most Photographed Child.
He has also been known to answer to Sweetie or Lovie.
Mommy sometimes calls him Goobie.
Daddy often calls him Buddy.
And when we talk about Grandpa he always reminds us with a big smile that Grandpa calls him Big Guy.
But soon, Harrison will receive a new title. Soon he will be known as,
And that's the best title of all.
New title begins on, or around, August 9th.
Stay tuned.
