Chamber will honor Secretary Carroll at Titan Award Celebration: The Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce announces Transportation Secretary Michael B. Carroll as its 2026 Titan Award Recipient. The Chamber will host its third annual Titan Award Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the Banks – A Waterfront Venue in Pittston. The Titan Award recognizes and honors the titans in our area who pave the way with their leadership, innovation and outstanding achievements. The award celebrates business excellence, acknowledging established giants who continually push the boundaries of excellence, setting standards that inspire others to reach greater heights. Carroll was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2006, was subsequently re-elected for seven additional terms and worked on transportation throughout his time in public office. He was Democratic chairman of the House Transportation Committee from 2018 through 2022. He has received the following community awards: Boy Scouts of America Minsi Trails Council Distinguished Citizen Award, Jean Yates Award from the Pittston Memorial Library Board of Trustees, Joseph Battisto Award for legislative service to the citizens of Monroe County, Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries State Elected Official Award, BAYADA Home Health Care Champion award and AMVETS Silver Bayonet Award. Carroll  serves as vice chair for the Northeast Association of State Transportation Officials and on the executive committee for the American Association of State Transportation Officials. He formerly was chief of staff for then-state Rep. John Yudichak, served as legislative liaison for PennDOT under Gov. Robert Casey and was district office director for Congressman Paul Kanjorski.
