The D.I. find of a lifetime!

ImageSo, I don't know what all of your styles are like (actually, I think it would be cool if people would post pics of things in their houses, or things on-line that they wish were in their houses, that depict their style--I would really enjoy that since I'm obsessed with design and such), but I personally think this lamp rocks! You know how sometimes you go to D.I. dreaming of finding something REALLY great hidden amidst all that junk? Well, I do anyways, and this time I really scored! This lamp--originally from Pottery Barn--was hidden behind a BIG, ugly lamp shade! It doesn't happen every day folks, but I'm living proof that it is possible... you CAN find good stuff at D.I.
P.S. I have also found, on other occasions, on awesome vase from Pier 1 and some cute Shabby Chic picture frames that I want to use in my girls' room.

The man of my DREAMS!!!

ImageDon't be jealous ladies! I found my Mr. Right and snatched him up! He is the man of my dreams and the love of my life! (his only imperfection is that he makes funny faces in pics., but I can live with that.) I love you babe!

Thank You Nana and Papa!!

Image
ImageI forgot to thank Nana and Papa for the nice Valentine's treats you sent the girls. They loved it all, but especially the stickers which were immediately applied all over krista's face and arms and the fruit roll-ups which somehow get brought up in conversation about every 15 min. (thanks a lot)! We LOVE you guys!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

Image
Image
ImageWe hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day and experience as much love for your someone(s) special on this day as we have!
We had fun this year getting a little something for our girls. Krista was SO excited about her princess panties; and, as is apparent, Emma just fell in love with the adorable--and VERY soft--purse we got her (I got it at "Holy Cow"... thanks Britt!). It has a little carrier attached to hold a matching stuffed elephant. I just love holidays! Isn't it so fun to do little things to make the ones you love happy!?!?
As an interesting side note: Yesterday, I drove up to Lehi to pick up my nephew to bring him back to my house. (My sister and I had arranged a baby-sitting swap for V-day.) When I left around 4, it had just started snowing here; when I got to Lehi, all of a sudden I couldn't see. It was snowing SO hard that I actually wasn't sure where I was. Miraculously, I somehow managed to exit at the right spot, and made it to her house. I decided to wait it out for an hour or so (since I was under the impression that this wasn't supposed to be a big storm) before trying to venture back to my house. But the blizzard didn't let up. It took my bro-in-law 2 1/2 hours to get home from work--what normally is a 15 min. drive--and he was a lucky one. Many people were forced to simply abandon their cars and walk home. It was INSANE! I wanted to be with my family so badly that I tried to leave at around 9 pm--knowing that many cars were still stuck on the road and it would probably take me several hours to get home--but I couldn't even make it up a hill outside their house. Needless to say, my sister and her husband missed their special date (sorry guys) and we all (including my other sister and her fam who were trying to get back home and couldn't make it) hung out and, despite everything, had a fun evening. Thanks for letting us stay at the "Weeks' Inn" (where the service is top notch!) However, I did still miss my fam VERY much especially since I had planned to make a big, nice V-day breakfast in the morning. But we're all safe and well and together now!

Purse Tag

Image
ImageOkay, so I don't actually use a "purse" unless I'm going somewhere without my girls, in which case I just grab my wallet, keys, and phone and throw them into my real purse. Otherwise, I lug this big old diaper bag around with me everywhere I go! What can I say, I am absolutely terrified of NOT being prepared, so I carry everything that would be conceivably necessary in any "emergency" situation. As you can see, one of my most recent additions to the bag is a spare pair of pants and panties; I've been potty-training Krista and I'm paranoid about accidents. I have wipes, diapers, Desitin, toys, crayons, books, hats and gloves, slippers and socks, a wide variety of hair accessories, fingernail clippers, lotion, several different medicines, even a toothbrush! And then their's the typical wallet, keys, phone, chap stick, tissue, random papers, and way too many coupons (many of which are expired).
No wonder my back aches all the time (JK).
I'll tag Kiersten next; bring it girl!

"Did you ever know that you're my hero"

I just wanted to give a BIG shout out to my incredible sister, Anna, who surprised me about a year and a half ago by creating this blog for me, and once again last night when she made this adorable new banner for me. I can't imagine how much time it took her, but she indicated that it wasn't easy. Ann, I just hope you know how much I appreciate all you do for me! I really do admire you in so many ways, but recently I have just been blown away by your incredible artistic talent. And while we're on the subject, thank you a million times for all the gorgeous pics. you have taken of my fam. You're my hero! I want to be like you when I grow up! I love you! And since I'm feeling so sentimental--and in case my other family members get jealous--I want all of my family to know that I love you and thank you for your love and support. You are each my heroes in different ways and I can never thank you enough for all you do for me!

All Smiles!

Image
ImageHere are just some fun pics taken around the house; not technically great, but cute all the same! Oh, and for your info., the rag curls didn't work with Krista's hair--nothing does. If anyone has suggestions as to what I should do with her hair, please do share!!
