Rush – Exit...Stage Left

Rush – Exit... Stage Left stands as a definitive document of the band’s transition from 1970s progressive rock titans to 1980s radio icons. It captures the band at a pivotal peak, recorded during the Permanent Waves tour (specifically at the Glasgow Apollo in 1980) and the Moving Pictures tour (at the Montreal Forum in 1981).

The album was produced by Terry Brown, who had worked with the band since Fly by Night. Unlike many live albums of the era which were known for being "raw," Exit... Stage Left was noted for its incredibly clean, almost clinical production.

While some fans missed the grit of their earlier live recordings, the album was praised for its technical precision. It showcased Geddy Lee’s seamless switching between bass, pedals, and synthesizers—a feat that became a hallmark of their three-piece live sound.

Broon’s Bane, A short, classical guitar piece performed by Alex Lifeson that serves as an intro to "The Trees." It was never recorded on a studio album, making it a "must-have" for collectors. YYZ Features an extended drum solo by Neil Peart, often cited by percussionists as one of the greatest recorded examples of his technical prowess. Xanadu, A sprawling 12-minute performance that proved the band could execute complex, multi-instrumental epics perfectly on stage. Album title is a reference to the character Snagglepuss, a Hanna-Barbera cartoon lion known for his catchphrase "Exit, stage left!" It reflected the band’s subtle sense of humor amidst their complex musical arrangements.

Amazing sound... no need for a vinyl version... Unfortunately there is no information on the year of release of this version... well done!

My version seems to have an error; the side that the label says is "Side 1" has the matrix/runout for side 2, and side 2 for side 1. Otherwise, the identifiers match.

I liked the sound of this pressing better than my Canadian original, just more full sounding and better soundscape. This was sold to me as the 200 gram version, came with the Mofi sleeve, and the runouts look almost identical to the 2015 200gram version listed on Discogs except for the SLM initials (no idea what that means) on side 4. The store weighed the records too and said they were ~200gram. Hard to tell but regardless this one's great and you'll be happy with it.

Great live recording from RUSH. Only band I prefer "live" recordings over studio albums. Their music is fucking magic.

Very impressed. Having just picked up a second hand copy in cracking condition, the sound is excellent. Lovely flat vinyl with no surface noise.
Punchy lows and clear highs. Most enjoyable listen.
Nice glossy sleeve as well.

Fantastic press. Sounds incredible and better than my Canadian / USA presses. Cover is also a glossy beauty.
