We’re excited to share that PINE's organizational partner, MCIE, is hosting their Summer Institute: Breaking Barriers for Authentic Inclusion on June 23–24 in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. MCIE pushes the conversation beyond surface-level inclusion into the deeper organizational and systemic work required to build stronger, more connected school communities. The institute will bring together educators and leaders for two days of practical, collaborative learning focused on authentic inclusion and systems change. Empowering educators, programs, and caregivers to support neurodivergent learners
About us
The Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education (PINE) empowers educators, school leaders, community programs, and caregivers to create inclusive, accessible, and supportive environments for neurodivergent youth. Through our PINE Membership, schools access self-paced online courses, a library of downloadable classroom tools, and on-demand coaching, helping educators and districts to strengthen their capacity to meet the diverse needs of their students. With PINE Community, we extend these resources beyond the school day, providing afterschool programs, camps, and caregivers with education, training, and tools to support neurodivergent children across learning environments. Together, we bridge the gap between school and non-school settings, ensuring neurodivergent children are supported wherever they go.

Great end-of-school-year training opportunity for paraeducators and aides!
2026 PINE Summit Rewind ⏪ “You can be the calm in the storm for your students.”- Kade Friedman One of the most powerful moments from Kade's “Dynamic Paraeducator Support for Building Student Autonomy” session was this reminder to paras that they do so much more than just provide support in the moment. They help students build awareness, autonomy, and self-advocacy every day. In this session explored: - How students can be independent… even when they ask for help - How paras can create more space for students to take risks and connect with their peers - The importance of co-regulation, executive functioning, and emotional regulation - How tools can help students better understand themselves and advocate for what they need The theme of this year's Summit–inclusion in action–means helping students build the skills, confidence, and support they need to participate more fully in school. ❓What is one way you can help students build independence while still feeling supported? Missed the live Summit? No worries! You can still access recordings through June 26 🔗 www.pineprogram.org/summit

PINE celebrates the educators who are putting inclusion into action👇🏽
This #TeacherAppreciationWeek, we’re celebrating the educators who are putting inclusion into action every single day. The teachers who are... 🧠 Rethinking behavior and challenging neuronormative expectations across spaces. 💟 Making space for different ways of learning, communicating, and being. 💫 Listening, adapting, and continuing to grow alongside their students. We see you. We see the ways you build classrooms where students feel safe, understood, and valued, not just for what they can do, but for who they are. And we know this work doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in community: with colleagues, with families, and with others across schools and systems who are committed to doing this work differently. That’s one of the things that has made this year’s PINE Summit such a powerful learning experience: A community of educators, leaders, and inclusion champions coming together to share ideas, reflect, and learn from one another, all grounded in a shared commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practice. If you weren’t able to join us live, it’s not too late. Summit recordings are still available, and we would love for you to be part of this learning community. 👉 www.pineprogram.org/summit #TeacherAppreciationWeek #InclusionInAction #Neurodiversity #PINESummit #BelongingInSchools

🌟 We Put Inclusion into Action! The 2026 PINE Summit brought together a powerful community of educators, community leaders, caregivers, and self-advocates - each committed to turning inclusive values into real, everyday practice. Across four dynamic sessions, we didn’t just talk about inclusion, we explored what it looks like in action: in classrooms, in programs, and in the specific strategies, supports, and decisions that shape a child’s experience. 🎤 A heartfelt thank you to our incredible presenters. Your expertise, insights, and lived experiences pushed this work forward in meaningful, actionable ways. The impact of your sessions will continue to ripple far beyond the Summit. 🎥 Deep gratitude to our production partners at Bridge Multimedia and Performedia. Your creativity, coordination, and care made this experience seamless and impactful from start to finish. 💡 And to our attendees: thank you for showing up with openness and intention. Your willingness to reflect, engage, and take action is what brings this work to life in real settings, every day. Together, we’re not just talking about inclusion - we’re putting it into practice. #PINESummit #InclusionInAction #Neurodiversity #Belonging #InclusiveEducation #EducationForAll #InclusionMatters

A para's role is to help students develop independence & interdependence. Kade Friedman gave a great presentation on this idea at the Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education PINE Summit: "Dynamic Paraeducator Support for Building Student Autonomy." They demonstrated how paras support the development of students': 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 ➡️ 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 ➡️ 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 And they shared this super practical five-point scale of support, helping paras (and all of us!) find the sweet spot of support—with specific strategies for students in elementary, middle, and high school. When someone shares doable, real-life practices that are grounded in a thoughtful, neurodiversity-affirming framework to support intentional decision making about those practices... that's gold! 🌟 Thank you Kade!
