Every singer with dreams of making it big visualizes epic forays into the music industry in New York, and Reign Judge could not have dreamed up a better moment for her introductory set than on a rooftop in downtown Manhattan — the now-legendary Nine Orchard rooftop, no less. Kate Spade hosted a Summer Soirée high above Chinatown, inviting guests to take pictures in front of the intricate floral backdrop and hear Judge croon live for the very first time. “It meant so much to me to be able to share this moment with those close to me, and to have Kate Spade believe in me and continue to champion me,” Judge tells NYLON exclusively. “Between the dress, the venue, and the company, it couldn’t have been a more beautiful way to kick off this new phase of my career.”

Judge has been a singular force in fashion for a while now, but music was her first passion. She’s studied jazz and opera, and her influences include Amy Winehouse (she pregamed her set with Winehouse’s 2007 Glastonbury performance of “Back to Black”) and Dionne Warwick: “Her third album Make Way For Dionne has been on repeat. She’s someone I look up to deeply. Her song “Walk On By” on this album was a part of my set, so I love listening to things that get me in that mindset!” After a nosh of charcuterie and some tea with honey, Judge got all dolled up with vintage pin-up curls, a heavy eyeliner not unlike Winehouse’s, and a stunning blue dress. She popped her digital camera and some lozenges into her Kate Spade Duo Mini bag and was ready to take the stage to perform songs like “Infatuation” and “Wouldn’t You Like To Know?” for friends of Kate Spade — and friends of her own. There’s an undeniable art to choosing an opener for your tour. Taylor Swift passed the showgirl baton to Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo helped make Chappell Roan a household name, and Tate McRae turned Zara Larsson into a headline. In fact, it’s become so serious that artists are literally sharing their openers. Case in point: Gracie Abrams and Role Model. Both acts have tapped singer-songwriter Samia to join them on their respective upcoming tours, which means you’ll have two chances to see the “Pool” singer in two different continents.

Samia begins her time on the road with Role Models’ Chuck On Tour, which kicks off in Portland, Oregon on Sept. 9. From there, the 29-year-old will be making stops all throughout North America alongside Mr. Model, playing venues like Philadelphia’s Skyline Stage, Atlanta’s Synovus Bank, Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, and New York City’s Radio City Music Hall before wrapping her tour stint in Berkeley, California on Oct. 18.

Samia will then resume her opening duties on April 8, 2027, where she will warm up the crowd at Paris’ Accor Arena for Gracie Abrams’ Look At My Life tour. As the opener for the European leg of Abrams’ tour, Samia will get the chance to play AFAS Dome in Antwerp, Belgium, 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, Co-op Live in Manchester, OVO Hydro in Glasgow, and The O2 Arena in London, England, where she’ll wrap the tour on May 4.

Samia will be playing 42 shows across the two tours, so there’s basically no reason not to see her live at least once within the next year.

Oh, to be inside Olivia Rodrigo’s mind when she writes a song. Well, now you can be — sort of.

In the latest installment of American Express’ “Story of my Song” series, shared exclusively with NYLON, the pop star breaks down how she wrote the song “Honeybee” off her new record, “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love.” “This was, I think, the first love song that I wrote for the album, which was very important,” Rodrigo prefaces. “It was basically my adventure into trying to write a song that was a ‘love song’ but it also had some element of sadness or fear or melancholy; all of my favorite love songs have those elements. I remember writing this song and being really happy for a few days after being like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I feel really good about this,’ and that doesn’t always happen when you write a song so it was a special feeling.”

Throughout the 16-minute episode, Rodrigo shares a wealth of insights — far more than we could ever cover here — as she dissects and deconstructs the song line by line on an oversized legal pad plastered with handwritten song lyrics. The first peek behind the songwriting curtain comes during the first verse, when Rodrigo reveals an inside joke between her and longtime producer Dan Nigro.

“My favorite funny part is that I cut up ‘clichés I knew.’ Dan and I always joke that we’re going to open a French restaurant called Chez Au Nous, ‘cus that’s what it sounds like in the song,” Rodrigo says, which prompts the producer to reveal that the name translates to “at our place.” “It makes me seem like I’m really smart and I’m like, putting Easter eggs to French language in my songs, which I’m not,” Rodrigo replies. Another unexpected reveal: the line “Let’s just walk in the dark / Hop the fence in the park” is a reference to the 1999 rom-com Notting Hill. “Whenever I hear that line I think of Hugh Grant, and how cute he was in that movie,” she says.

In the chorus, she drops even more gems of wisdom, including one relating to the thesis-statement-ness of the final line, “Here’s to hoping.” “There’s an element to hope when you meet someone, you’re like ‘Oh, my God, I hope this can be amazing,’” the singer says. “And then you’re dating and you’re like, ‘I hope this can be forever.’ In any relationship, everything’s like a beautiful flower that’s gorgeous and you’re like, ‘Oh, God, I don’t want it to die, but it’s part of what makes it so beautiful.”

Considering NYLON just crowned Rodrigo the new Queen of the Bridge, we couldn’t help but perk up when she addressed the fact that the song doesn’t have one. If anything, her explanation just proves our case. “I tried to write a bunch of bridges for the song, and it just didn’t feel like it worked. It felt like the song needed some space, it needed to open up,” she says. Now that’s a pro.

Even after the song is over, she still has one more message to impart on us. “I think at the end of the day I just wanna write songs that excite me that I feel like capture what it feels like to be me and be alive and in my world,” says Rodrigo. “I hope that I can keep writing songs that maybe make people feel seen, and make me feel seen. Here’s to hoping.”

Building your own media empire is not as simple as getting a reality television show, some brand deals, and a social-media following: It takes a certain cool factor. For the 2026 edition of the awards, DeSorbo was attending as a previous winner and as someone who takes a dress code seriously. “The theme was “gay fever dream,” and I interpreted that as: What would I want to wear every single day if I could? It’s so common to call a stirring concert a “spiritual experience.” Dare I say, it’s even overused (I’m looking at you, gay Twitter).

But witnessing Rosalía make her Madison Square Garden debut Tuesday night, it felt witnessing the chicest Catholic mass imaginable.

The artist’s work has long been steeped in religious iconography, flamenco tradition, and a near-obsessive reverence for art history. For her debut, Madison Square Garden had the air of a cathedral rather than its typical courtside chaos as home of the Knicks (#knicksinfive), transforming one of New York City's most legendary stages into a meditation on devotion, beauty, grief, and spectacle. After a spiritually enlightening occasion like this thanks to Stubhub, I had to spend some time the morning after reflecting on what exactly I witnessed — and why this tour may be one of the most artistically ambitious arena productions in recent memory.

First, there was her entrance: another overused term “iconic” comes to mind, so humor me as I use it unabashedly here. A wooden box stamped with “Fragile” (the kind typically reserved for transporting priceless works of art) sat center stage as a team of dancers hurriedly undid the latches. The sides swung down to reveal the priceless artwork herself: la Rosalía. There she stood in fourth position in an ivory Dior knit tank and organza tutu skirt, evoking the image of Edgar Degas’ statue Little Dancer Aged Fourteen. Before the first note of opening track "Sexo, Violencia y Llantas" rang out, the Barcelona-born singer had already established the evening's central premise: she was the art, and we, happily, were her mere spectators.

The stage design followed a similar philosophy. Surprisingly sparse for an arena show, the set relied primarily on staircases assembled into different formations and sweeping drapes that billowed across the stage. Y ya. The stripped-back staging allowed Rosalía herself to remain the focal point. It was proof that emotional impact doesn't necessarily require LED overload (though, club kids, rest easy: there are tasteful moments of strobe lights throughout the set).

The live orchestra helped bridge those worlds. Stationed in the middle of the general admission floor, the ensemble frequently introduced songs with dramatic string arrangements before giving way to Rosalía's genre-hopping catalog. The contrast became one of the show's defining strengths: One moment, you're listening to something that sounds fit for a concert hall, and the next, you're watching 20,000 people dance to reggaeton.

Dripping in Dior, Rosalía approached the wardrobe as another storytelling device. At one point, she was draped in a white cloak resembling that of a Renaissance saint; another moment, she donned angel wings and drawstring shorts during a section nodding to her Motomami era. Theatrical! Striking! Deliciously excessive at times — much like the music itself.

Regardless of how you feel about the music industry's ongoing obsession with guest appearances at live performances, Maggie Rogers act of confession proved a welcome addition. During their segment together, Rogers recounted a story about going on a date with a New York Times journalist, having a great time, genuinely liking him, and then discovering through a friend that he was actually dating one of their mutual friends.

Rosalía's response: "You can never trust a journalist."

I watched, half-laughing, as the opening beat of “La Perla” kicked in.

What struck me most, though, was how emotional she seemed throughout the night. At one point, Rosalía reflected on performing in New York nearly a decade ago while touring her debut project, Los Ángeles to a crowd of mas o menos 20 people. Standing inside a filled Madison Square Garden, the significance of the moment clearly wasn't lost on her.

She closed the show with a moving encore of "Magnolias," tears visible in her eyes and enough conviction in her voice to turn even the most skeptical attendee into a believer. (Not that I needed converting).

Still, Tuesday night's Madison Square Garden debut felt like a reminder of why Rosalía continues to occupy a lane entirely her own. Plenty of artists can command an arena. Even more can stage a spectacle. But few can transform a concert into something that feels genuinely transcendent.

Yes, “spiritual experience” may be an overused phrase. But in this case, I'll allow it.

It’s only been two months since Tiffany Day dropped her debut album Halo, but she’s already back with more music. The hyperpop producer has tapped rapper Slayr for her latest track “Constantly,” out today.

The release comes just days after the pair debuted the song live at The Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash 2026 in Bridgeview, Illinois. In classic Day fashion, the “Start Over” singer uses her signature skittering, whiplash-inducing production to create a sonic chaos that expertly encapsulates how it feels to ruminate over an ex, with Slayr’s drowsy rap feature serving as the perfect contrast to Day’s glittering, sleazy-party-girl vocals. “I know I’m not a saint, I tell people that I love / And I don’t put no blame on you and me, we just grew up / But God, it’s such a shame that we don’t talk anymore,” Day laments in the chorus.

“Slayr and I met online earlier this year and connected after we realized we were going through some of the same stuff,” Day tells NYLON exclusively. “He honestly helped me get through a lot of sh*t before we even talked about music. He’s so genuine, I was shocked by how much wisdom he had for being 19 — it was so nice to hear kind and encouraging stuff from him and that really set the precedent for us to make this sick a*s song I think.”

“Before we met IRL I was nervous I was going to be too bubbly and happy for him, but I actually really enjoyed our dynamic and just wanted to make him laugh,” she continued. “We had a nice convo laying on the floor of the ballroom talking about random sh*t. I liked that moment a lot. We ended up linking in Chicago and filmed the video on Friday before Summer Smash because we both played Saturday, and then Monday I locked in for four hours on the plane ride home and finished it all in one go. I have never done that before. My eyes still hurt and I’m still seeing strobes when I try to go to sleep.”

Few women are having a busier summer than Ciara Miller. When she’s not booking brand deals and storming the Internet with her honest takes, she’s hopping on flights to Fiji for appearances on Love Island USA and prepping for her moment on Dancing With the Stars. We don’t need to rehash how Miller became the unanimous hero of Summer House this year, and now that the reunion (and its extra follow-up episode) have come to a close, Miller is headed into her summer free of men — and full of new opportunities. One of those firsts she can cross off her list? Becoming a Covergirl.

How did the Covergirl experience come about, and how was your time on set?

Since I was young, I’ve wanted to be a Covergirl, the iconic, easy, breezy, beautiful. It was surreal on set, but it was such a great shoot. It’s an iconic name in American beauty, and of course I want to be a part of it. As I’m going into this next chapter, this was such an organic partnership between Love Island and Dancing With the Stars, and to have Covergirl a part of this next chapter is so special and important to me.

Do you have any early memories of using Covergirl products, or any first experiences with beauty growing up?

My mom always says I came out of the womb wearing lipstick and high heels. From a young age, I was always in her makeup bag. Between her makeup bag and my grandmother’s makeup bag, I always wanted makeup. They had to reel me in. I grew up watching America’s Next Top Model and seeing the prize of being the face of CoverGirl. You dream about it, but you’re like, “Will I ever reach that point one day?” I’ve always been a makeup girl. CoverGirl was some of the first makeup I bought when I was allowed to wear makeup. It’s so nostalgic, but still so current. The new TruBlend Sun & Sculpt Bronzing Glow Serum is the perfect product for me to promote. Besides using this all over the body, what else goes into getting the signature glow?

Definitely sunscreen. I shout sunscreen from the rooftop because it’s the only anti-aging product actually on the market. Let’s not even start with sun damage. It’s obviously a product you use year round, but when the UV index is high, you need to be wearing sunscreen when the sun is out at all times. Wear sunscreen and don’t forget your neck, don’t forget your chest. That’s really my skin prep. Of course, I love a vitamin C serum, which helps with hyperpigmentation and gives the brightness you need as well.

Is there another makeup hack that gets you out the door in 30 seconds?

I feel like I’m on set so much that I’m like, what is something that...

You’re like, the professionals have been doing it.

No, literally. When I’m by myself, I do a little one, two on my cheekbones: a little glow, a little highlight, and then I can get out the door. The TruBlend Skin Enhance is this blush balm, and I have fought blushes for the past six years. My makeup artist has had to slowly introduce blushes into my makeup routine, but now I love a blush. I never thought I would get to that day, but I do love an apricot color on my cheeks when I’m doing very minimal makeup.

I always fill in my brow, put a little something on the cheek, and then I can just be out the door. Honestly, I don’t even do foundation sometimes. A little highlight, a little bronzing glow serum. That’s a simple makeup routine where I can be out the door, and I don’t need to sit and look at myself in the mirror for an hour.

Is there anything you’ve tried that immediately was like “This is not for me”?

I always go back and forth between wanting to get individual lash extensions, but the thought of having to sit there and get them… They look beautiful, but the thought of having to sit there, then they’re falling out, and then you have to go back. I don’t want another thing. I love to be a little frugal. That’s another expense to pay for as a girl. But I do love lashes, and every couple months, I’m on Instagram trying to find people who do really great lashes, then I talk myself out of it quickly.

It’s a lot of time in the chair. I feel like at a certain point, I would start ripping them off.

I would pull them off in my sleep. It’s also sitting in the chair. I have to talk myself into going to get my nails done because I know I’m going to be there for at least three hours. I don’t think I can do it with more than just my nails.

What is your drink order this summer, and where in the city are you ordering said drink?

Oh, my God. I love a Hugo Spritz. It is everything to me. The minute I have an ounce of free time, I’m like, “Let’s sip a Hugo Spritz in the sun.” Yesterday, I was at Jeffrey’s Grocery. They do a great Hugo Spritz in the West Village. Barbuto does a great Hugo Spritz as well.

We’re staying on the west side, I love it.

I know, like what is up with me? But also, I’m going to give you a little bit of Lower East Side: Bar Belly does an amazing Hugo Spritz as well. Eel Bar doesn’t have a Hugo Spritz, but they have a great wine selection if you want a crisp white. I always let them pick whatever drink I get because I’m just like, “Make it crispy and cool and make it a white.”

Despite opening its doors back in 2020, the Rockaway Hotel remains one of the city’s best kept secrets. It’s hard to understand why: Located just steps away from the ferry, the subway, and its namesake beach, the boutique hotel should be an automatic go-to for anyone looking for a last-minute recharge or a proper OOO-vacation. And as a WFH spot, it beats every WeWork or co-working café in the five boroughs.

Upon my arrival for my overnight staycation, I was surprised with a complimentary glass of rosé (a little liquid confidence for answering emails poolside never hurt anyone), which I paired with a poolside lobster roll because, well, when in Rockaway. The pool had been calling my name ever since I arrived, so I took my final bites and treated myself to a post-lunch dip. It was a gorgeous 75 degrees outside, yet somehow the water was even warmer: a huge plus for me, as someone who can barely get waist-deep in a bathtub. If it weren’t for the spa treatment I had booked for myself, I might’ve never gotten out.

I was guided to a private section near the pool for my Scalp Therapy Drizzle, and for 10 blissful minutes, my temples and crown were massaged, kneaded, and caressed with a rejuvenating tea tree oil. (If a scalp rub-down doesn’t speak to you, the spa also offers a host of other facials, massages, and body services for your liking.) Feeling tingly and revitalized, I decided to keep the good vibes going with a solo bike ride on the boardwalk. The hotel keeps its complimentary beach cruisers right in the lobby, so I was able to grab a two-wheeler and embark on my first bike ride in years without overthinking it. I even took the adorable pink bike out on the street for a few minutes, which helped me cure my fear of biking in the city on a technicality.

One recentering spin around the water and several sun burns later, it was time to refuel post-ride with dinner on the roof. The specially curated menu featured a mix of offerings from the hotel’s restaurants, Margie’s and The Rooftop, including (but not limited to): Tuna, Avocado, and Lobster Crispy Rice, Spicy Crab Linguine, Chicken Yakitori, Korean Barbecue Ribs, and a Pat LaFrieda Prime Tomahawk steak. The unobstructed city skyline and water views made it the best spot in the hotel to watch the sunset, and an even better spot to watch Game 1 of the NBA Finals with the rest of the hotel and more than a few locals.

I woke up the next morning feeling on top of the world — maybe I was still riding the high of the Knicks win the night before, but I like to think it was the extra soft mattress and picturesque water view that contributed to my unusually uplifted mood. To keep the good vibes going, I attended a 9 a.m. yoga class at The Studio, the hotel’s dedicated wellness space, across the street. My body contorted in ways I didn’t know was possible that day, but when a guy like Niko is your instructor, you lock in. Various muscle spasms aside, the class did help me work up an appetite before enjoying a cute lunch on the beach by The Pool House. Umbrellas, towels, food, drinks, and beach chairs were all waiting for me at Rockaway, with staffers on-site to clean up the remnants of my afternoon when I was finished. I didn’t have to lift a finger; all I had to do was savor my salad and take in the ocean views.

Before I knew it, it was time to catch the ferry back to Wall Street and head home. Returning to the most dog-eat-dog neighborhood in NYC after my 24-hour reprieve did leave me with quite a bit of whiplash, but at least now I don’t have to worry about weekend spikes in my cortisol levels, because my new favorite vacation spot is just a ferry ride away.

Normally when you see Petra Collins’ name attached to a campaign, her contributions begin and end behind the camera. But thanks to Kosas, now Collins gets to be the creative director and the muse.

To celebrate Kosas’ latest launch, the Impressionist Multistick, the Canadian artist is giving the new product (a creamy dual lip and cheek product that promises up to 12 hours of wear) the Petra Collins-touch via the beauty brand’s new campaign, The Impressionist. Only this time she’s not just calling the shots — she’s posing for them, too. The imagery is quintessential Collins: cloaked in a layer of hazy nostalgia, each photo conveys femininity, intimacy, and wistfulness in a way that only Collins is capable of achieving. The 33-year-old uses everyday spaces as the backdrop for this campaign (bathrooms, gardens, etc.), and at the forefront of every photo is Collins bidding for connection through tactile applications of makeup and close up snapshots of self-expression.

“Working with Petra on this campaign was a dream on so many levels,” Sheena Zadeh, founder of Kosas, tells NYLON exclusively. “She really embodies the creative, expressive lifestyle that Kosas is all about, and there’s something so emotionally resonant about the way she captures a feeling through her work. Her imagery feels intimate, instinctive, nostalgic, and alive, which felt perfectly aligned with what we were trying to create with Impressionist.”

If summer is the season of thriving and late nights, spring is the moment for preparation. This April, my search for holistic wellness treatments started where any reputable journalist would investigate: TikTok.

In our hunt for the top beauty products in the world (more on that soon), it felt like I saw more tools than normal. There were red-light masks for entire bodies, compression wraps, cryo chambers, and massage tools intended for medieval torture. I even tested out an Ammortal Chamber at the Proper hotel in Santa Monica, which promised a laundry list of improvements if used on a weekly basis (and at roughly $200,000, that wasn’t happening). What from this seemingly endless amount of body work could work for me at home?

I landed on the vibration plate, literally and figuratively. There are several articles detailing its anti-inflammatory benefits, promoting lymphatic drainage, increasing circulation, and delivering a “wake-up” to the body first thing in the morning. I duly set the machine up in my apartment, much to the amusement of my boyfriend and friends who I shared the process with. What was I doing, and what was I gaining from it?

One of my inspirations was a skincare guru and licensed esthetician based in New York, Gillian Milberg. Her 360-degree approach to skincare is featured through her content, where she promotes the benefits of daily adaptogens and is brutally honest on the latest health fads of the moment. She posted a video of her boyfriend using a vibration plate, which to me served as confirmation that I should give it a whirl. “As an esthetician, I’m always interested in modalities that support circulation and lymphatic movement, because the skin does not exist in isolation from the rest of the body. I became especially interested in vibration plates during a period when I was personally dealing with elevated inflammation markers and wanted to support my body more holistically rather than taking a prescription,” Milberg tells me. “Alongside a few other minor lifestyle changes, I incorporated a vibration plate into my routine and noticed a real difference in how I felt: less stagnancy, more energy, improved puffiness, and better circulation to my hands and feet.”

I don’t know if it was placebo effect, but after a few shakes, I also noticed a bit more energy in the mornings after stepping off the plate. My feet run famously cold thanks to subpar circulation, and the plate brought color and life to my usually purple toes. After a particularly hellacious weekend for my body (read: I attended a music festival), the vibration plate soothed my sore feet and legs after just ten minutes, combined with an Epsom salt bath and a Theragun. But, as Milberg says, the benefits are not just muscular; they can show up on our skin, too. As someone who prides themselves on a fastidious skincare regimen, I also cannot avoid the fact that a party-filled weekend can throw that all out the window. If the vibration plate didn’t act as a great eraser of my late-night French fries and beers, perhaps it could at least level me out— an equalizer of sorts.

I can’t speak directly to empirical evidence (this isn’t WebMD, after all) but I can speak to the moments spent on the plate. Kicking off the day with forced and static movement wasn’t going to save my skin (or me for that matter), but adding something into my routine that wasn’t a new gizmo or $200 cream while delivering benefits to my entire body was something I could get behind. “We’re moving into a more body-focused era of beauty, where people understand that skin health is deeply connected to movement, fascia, blood flow, nervous system regulation, and lymphatic function,” Millberg says. “At this point, even though my vibration plate is admittedly a bit of an eyesore in my living room, it’s earned a permanent place in my wellness device line-up.” So next time I have guests over, I will not apologize for the awkward gray retro-looking device not-so discreetly hit under my bed. Instead, I’ll give my amateur-level take on how 10 minutes of vibrating in the morning have rewired my body little by little. It’s not a miracle drug, and it’s something I never thought would be a part of my “skincare” routine, but I’m all the way in.

Allow us to stan-out for a second: Olivia Rodrigo’s third album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love, dropped today, and the TL;DR is, it’s really good. A calculated shift away from the Avril Lavigne-leaning pop punk and Lorde-like balladry that she built her career upon, the new record is a stunning tribute to the synthy, darkly bright sound of British new wave, and masterfully pays homage to the euphoric melancholy of bands like Tears For Fears, Depeche Mode, and most obviously, The Cure.

Once again, however, the most impressive element of her artistry remains her songwriting; at just 23 years old, Rodrigo is already articulating the nauseating nuances and painful pitfalls of love better than most artists twice her age, with her best musical moments coming out on the bridge. Dare we say, she might just be the new undisputed Queen of Bridges.

The record opens with the lead single, “Drop Dead,” and when it reaches its peak, the bridge is not unlike that of her 2021 hit “Deja Vu”: it’s loud, it’s explosive, and it feels like a rush of adrenaline to the brain. But that build pales in comparison to the bridge on the following track, “Stupid Song,” on which Rodrigo delivers a rousing declaration of love at half of volume of the previous song before piercing through the silence with the brief exaltation, “Nobody’s wanted somebody more!” between every line — definitive proof that you don’t need a high-energy build and scream-sung gang vocals to have a perfect bridge.

The next arresting bridge comes on “My Way,” where Rodrigo adopts the persona of the villain hurling insults at another girl trying to shoot her shot with her boyfriend. “So, where'd you get that confidence from? / Last time that I checked, I won / Let me be direct: just stop / You're being f*cking weird,” she sings in her most bratty voice over a wailing high-pitched synth. The song certainly doesn’t paint her in the best light, yet it’s so addictive that it’s hard not to be on her side.

Of course, we can’t talk about bridges without acknowledging “The Cure.” The second single from the record, the track sees Rodrigo realizing that romantic love won’t heal your insecurities. The first three minutes of the song are quiet, intimate, tame. But as the voices in her head continue to mount, she erupts in a chorus of belts, pleading, “Why can’t you come stitch me up?” A perfect encapsulation of the album’s title, it’s the most essential moment not just on the song, but on the record as a whole. While the lyrics definitely pack a punch, it’s the tension within the production paired with Rodrigo’s disarming vocal delivery that makes this moment so crucial — she’s letting the music do the talking, without having to use overly-written metaphors or complicated wordplay as a crutch. It’s an economy of words and a lesson in restraint that many artists could stand to learn from.

Possibly the best bridge on the album, however, takes place on the final track on the album, a haunting depiction of post-breakup clarity called “Cigarette Smoke.” Even with some distance from the relationship, she can’t seem to shake the memories of her ex, despite seemingly wanting nothing to do with him anymore. “It’s bone dry, bitter, and hollow / You'll be miles away tomorrow / Why'd I try at all?” Rodrigo laments, her voice swelling over a suite of acoustic guitars and string instruments. With this bridge, she closes out the record on an angry, love-scorned note, which, if we had to guess, is exactly what she wanted.

Whether or not the public is ready to crown her the Queen of the Bridge, there’s no denying that the singer-songwriter is at the top of her game, consistently raising the bar with every new release. Simply put, none of these new pop girls are doing it Olivia Rodrigo.

In the pantheon of Internet boyfriends, Josh O’Connor is up there for his whimsy, adorable Dumbo-like ears, and his classically English fashion. With a new stylist and a massive summer movie on the way, O’Connor has proved he’s ready for the leading-man role both on and off screen.

O’Connor had a huge 2025, appearing as a sexy priest in the latest Knives Out movie and starring in a handful of indie favorites. 2026 promises to up the ante, with roles in a Joel Coen movie and Steven Spielberg’s latest alien blockbuster, Disclosure Day. He’s appeared alongside Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, and Spielberg for press with a fresh wardrobe worthy of the massive scale the movie expects of its stars. For the first set of press in Paris, he stepped out in a mix of designers hitting the preppy-chic notes he’s known for with a custome cable-knit waistcoat from Dior, a striking Lemaire patterned shirt and vest, and a classic white shirt, tie, and jeans also by Dior.

The second stop on the press tour was London, and O’Connor kept up the gentlemanly vibes with another custom Dior tuxedo on the red carpet, accessorized with a swept-back hair look and a clover pin. Elsewhere, he was dapper in true menswear-heads labels like The Row and Dries Van Noten, giving a fashion-forward touch to a classic shirt-and-tie moment.

Finally, no press tour is complete without a New York minute, and O’Connor’s delivered with, you guessed it, even more Dior. The third and final premiere look was a white jacket, blue tie, and another brooch, which has quickly become his must-have accessory for a red carpet. Elsewhere, he popped out in a relaxed Calvin Klein gray suit (with a black Dior bag on shoulder, thank you very much), a crisp pajama-style yellow Dior shirt that walked the Cruise 2027 show a month ago, and another tonal pink Lemaire moment with a sweater vest.

His style is hitting all the right notes for us: It’s not forced runway looks, but it still is all designer — and he has Jason Bolden to thank for that. O’Connor has previously worked with Harry Lambert, superstar stylist to Harry Styles and Alexander Skarsgard, but probably was not available due to Styles’ epic world tour that kicked off earlier this summer. Bolden is responsible for the fashion of Nicholas Hoult, Nicole Kidman, and LaKeith Stanfield, to name but a few, and always brings a light touch that doesn’t scream “I’m being styled right now.” Instead, his synergetic approach to styling has resulted in O’Connor both being ready for the major stage of a huge summer movie while still maintaining his sense of whimsy.

The most important aspect of the tour, however, is O’Connor’s close relationship with Dior designer Jonathan Anderson, who has dressed the movie star for years now, both in Loewe when he was designing there and now at Dior, where Anderson’s preppy-meets-Hollywood vision couldn’t find a better match. O’Connor’s next movie role will surely surprise and delight, just like his adorable fashion choices.

Few things are more synonymous with summer music festivals than sunkissed shoulders, hungover mornings, and blue jeans of varying inseams. No matter your preferred pairing (Shrunken baby tees? Kitten heel flip flops? A low-profile sneaker that has absolutely seen better days?), or the artist you camped out for to secure a front row spot, Levi’s remains a constant.

This year at Primavera Sound, that fact felt especially apparent.

I attended the Barcelona music festival to take in the sets (yes, I’m still buzzing from Addison), a few tinto de veranos, but most importantly, the fashion. Among the sea of micro shorts, archival band tees, and ever-creative takes on layering, attendees and artists had a similar inclination towards the well-loved denim brand. As pop mainstays like Rose Gray rocked baggy light wash and Role Model took the stage in vintage 501s, the fits felt, well, fitting. After all, few garments have had a longer tenure in music culture than a pair of Levi's.

I hear you, dear reader, how exactly did one American denim label become the unofficial uniform of summer, music, and culture alike?

Like most fashion institutions, it wasn't one singular moment so much as a series of cultural handoffs. Levi's has spent more than a century quietly shape-shifting alongside every generation that adopts it. The same brand worn by cowboys and miners eventually found its way onto rock stars, punks, indie sleaze devotees, Tumblr girls, normcore disciples, and now the TikTok generation. Not bad for a pair of pants originally designed for manual labor.

That's the thing about Levi's: it has a seat at virtually every aesthetic table.

The '60s had their flared denim. The '70s celebrated straight leg denim a la The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers. The '90s had Cindy Crawford's highrise cut-offs and off-duty supermodel style. The indie kids of the 2010s paired their skinny Levi's with disposable cameras and an alarming number of ironic mustaches. Even normcore's anti-fashion manifesto relied heavily on a dependable pair of blue jeans. Trends come and go, aesthetics acquire increasingly niche names, but Levi's somehow survives every cultural reset.

And at Barça’s Parc del Forum, the denim stalwart’s shape-shifting ability took center stage — er, center crowd. After a weekend spent weaving through sun-drenched (and officially rain-soaked) crowds and dodging half-empty Estrella Damm cups, I spotted the same pair of jeans living entirely different lives. Addison’s backup dancers wore theirs fabulously low-slung. Cobrah, in head-to-toe black denim, informed me that Levi’s mini shorts are best styled when cut to a thong. And on myself, they manifested as the season’s biggest trend of camo print capris paired with moto boots and a denim tube top. Y punto.

That's what makes festivals such an interesting fashion petri dish. Everyone arrives attempting to communicate something about themselves through clothing, yet by day three, practicality inevitably wins. The best festival pieces are the ones that can survive hours of dancing, sitting on concrete, sweating, and posing for Monday’s photo dump. And while every generation tweaks the formula — cropping the hem here, widening the leg there — Levi's has been passing that test for decades of festival seasons. Perhaps best of all, they somehow look better the longer the weekend goes on…unlike my undereyes.

We aren’t in the business of covering sports on a regular basis, but when we live in Jalen Brunson’s New York and the World Cup is about to kick off, who are we to resist? The vibes are high in the city, with the NBA Finals (hopefully) wrapping up soon and the first games of the FIFA World Cup starting on June 11. Sienna Spiro was at a loss. She’d just watched an early cut of The Devil Wears Prada 2 after being approached about its soundtrack, and the 20-year-old British soul singer wasn’t sure where she fit in. “My music, it’s quite sad, it’s quite miserable,” she says matter-of-factly. “And Devil Wears Prada is so bubbly and fun and sparkly. And so I left and was just like, ‘Oh God, what am I going to make?’”

She found herself thinking about, well, the plight of the media industry — you know, classic pop star stuff. Magazines shutting down. Everything going digital. “I really related to that in terms of my generation and how everything stopped being made into things you could touch,” she says. “I love real things. I keep souvenirs from all the shows I do. I’ll keep tickets, lanyards, anything.” So she decided to write a song about it: “Material Lover,” an addictively jazzy, feel-good ode to tangible connection (and, sure, the power of a little retail therapy). “I love making things with my hands. It makes me feel like a human being,” she continues. “And it’s the same way with music. I love real music. I love real instruments. I’ll always strive to make music with real humans that are playing real instruments, rather than using a computer. And never AI.”

Originally we had plans to meet for lunch in Greenwich Village in late May, but due to a last-minute schedule change, Spiro is now giving her manifesto of sorts over Zoom from her bedroom in London, four days after wrapping a tour. Some time at home is certainly deserved, but it’s not that kind of trip. Her debut album, Visitor, is coming out July 3, which means “no downtime at the moment,” Spiro says proudly. We talk for all of 30 seconds before Spiro makes mention of the historic heat wave plaguing her country, which she is soldiering through in a cream-colored silk camisole and a perfectly slicked-back pony — a rare departure from the ’60s bouffant-inspired ’do she’s usually seen sporting these days.

“I have to make music, you know? It’s more than a want. I literally have to make music.”

Between her vintage aesthetic and the kind of achingly soulful ballads the United Kingdom excels at exporting, Spiro’s work evokes a bygone era, long before algorithms and For You pages ever existed. (When I ask her about her dream collaborators, she quips, “Well, half of them are dead.”) Yet in an ironic twist, that’s exactly where she found her audience. She started posting covers on TikTok as a teenager, praying she’d get discovered, and in 2022 had her first brush with virality with a rendition of Finneas’ “Break My Heart Again.”

You can see why it cut through: Here’s this blond beauty, clutching her Apple headphones’ wired mic to her lips like she’s ready to narrate some influencer content, and then out comes that voice: a rich contralto that transmits the anguish of a much older woman with a pack-a-day habit, wrapped in the kind of melancholy that instantly forms a lump in your throat. “I thought I was Beyoncé,” she jokes of the clip’s success. “I walked around London like, ‘Oh, I wonder if I’m going to get recognized.’ I had 200K views!”

That was nothing compared to last fall, when Spiro released “Die on This Hill,” a unrequited love song that unfolds with the burning urgency of a life-altering cardiac event. (Yes, it’s that serious.) TikTok quickly grabbed hold of the song’s melodramatic bridge — “I know nothing could matter! God, I wish something mattered!” — cracking the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 just four months after its release.

“If I hyperfixate too much on numbers and people liking me, I would be miserable.”

“That song was a weird one that couldn’t really get finished because there were loads of different versions,” she says. She pauses. “It was a really weird period of time actually, to be honest.” She was still learning how to assert herself, she explains. She’d tried an acoustic-guitar version while opening for Teddy Swims last summer, but she knew she hadn’t cracked it. “Someone around me was like, ‘This is it.’ And I remember singing it…” Spiro says, shaking her head disapprovingly as her voice trails off. “But then I started singing it how it is now on the next tour and it felt so good, so cathartic.”

In the end, she got her happy ending. “I really love this song and I will be happy to sing this for the rest of my life if I have to,” Spiro says. “When something feels right, it feels very right.”

Finding her voice has been a lifelong project for Spiro. She wanted to be a performer for as long as she can recall. “Singing wasn’t even something I remember starting,” she says. “It was just something I always did.” But her family didn’t exactly see the vision as a young Spiro belted her face off at home. “My dad was my biggest critic for the longest time,” she says. She chuckles at the memory now, but the feedback got under her skin. “I really grew up thinking I wasn’t a singer. I was like, ‘Well, I’ll be a really good songwriter then if I want to do this.” Still, for Spiro, there was no other choice: “I have to make music, you know? It’s more than a want. I literally have to make music.”

As it turns out, she had a lot of big feelings to work through. She describes her childhood self as stubborn, passionate, and bestowed with an “innate sadness” from the age of 10. That was the age she wrote her first song, “Lady in the Mirror” — a nod to Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror,” which she loved — about feeling misunderstood at school.

“I was getting bullied, and no one really believed me that it was happening,” she says. “The song was about how the only person who really knows what’s going on is me, the person in the mirror.”

“I didn’t believe in myself enough yet to have an album. But the way people receive my music really gave me the confidence.”

She took the lyrics to her music teacher, Mr. Richards, who helped her build a piano arrangement, and then performed the tune in front of all her bullies at a school assembly. (“I don’t really know what possessed me to do that,” she says. “It was kind of insane, to be honest.”) And while she didn’t get any apologies from her tormentors, they affirmed her talent nonetheless.

“These assemblies where you’d get to sing, they would allow your parents to come in, and anytime someone was singing on stage, everyone would look behind to see the mum. That was kind of a sign that you’re killing it,” says Spiro. “My mum was there filming, and everyone was looking behind. That was so validating.”

Even so, finding her footing as a recording artist took some time. After meeting her manager and dropping out of the East London Arts & Music secondary school, Spiro did what most up-and-coming pop stars do: She put herself through the “speed-dating” wringer of songwriting sessions. Spiro bristled, however, at the pressure and impersonal nature of hitmaking. “It’s like, ‘Oh, you’ve got one day to meet this person, connect with them, write a song’ — and if you don’t finish a song, you feel this sense of guilt,” she says. “And that is, I cannot even begin to tell you, the most f*cked-up way to think about making music.”

Once she found her people, including writer-producer Omer Fedi, she had to battle her own insecurities. In the studio, “I really was trying to prove myself,” she says. “I would sing everything. I would do every note, every scale, every riff, every run, be the loudest singer. That really doesn’t make a good vocalist. It really doesn’t.” Fedi, who executive produced Visitor, helped her chill out: “He’d be like, ‘Stop! Stop that!’” she recalls. “He really taught me the art of intention.”

When Spiro started work on Visitor, she didn’t think she was crafting her debut; she thought she still had to earn a full-length body of work. “I didn’t really believe in myself enough yet to have an album,” she says. “But I think the way people receive my music really gave me the confidence. I was just going to make it an EP or a mixtape, but it just felt like a disservice to not make it a full album.”

The album’s 10 tracks are centered on themes of impermanence and the idea that we’re all just visitors in each other’s lives. You can drive yourself crazy thinking about how nothing lasts forever, Spiro says. Or you can find the beauty in ephemerality — “love things for what they are and loving them more because they won’t last,” as she puts it. Which is a handy perspective to have when your career is blowing up. “I have these moments where I cannot even wrap my head around the way my life has gone, and the speed that it’s gone at,” says Spiro. “I feel like equal parts deeply grateful and very, very nervous.”

Spiro jokes that she has the “memory of a fish,” but as she lists off the highlights of her recent tour, it’s clear she’s taking it all in. Ask her what she did in Brussels and she can give you a play-by-play of her day, from the mussels she had at Chez Leon to the sorbet she had on the lake. Ask her about the crowds, and she’ll summon a snapshot that stopped her in her tracks. “There was this one moment during ‘Maybe’ where I was looking at this girl crying in the second row, and this other girl in the first row put her arm around her and brought her forwards. They didn’t know each other,” says Spiro (who embarks on a North American tour this fall). “It’s so beautiful and crazy to see from my perspective. I feel very lucky to create the vibe in those rooms.”

She tries not to think too hard about external validation. “If I hyperfixate too much on numbers and people liking me, I would be miserable,” she says. But what’s the point of having a hit if you’re not going to enjoy it? “I’ve got a plaque downstairs — I’ve never had a plaque before,” she says. “I was so happy.”

She feels similarly about her ever-growing list of famous fans. SZA was an early supporter on social media. Elton John invited her on his Apple Music radio show. (“I try and pick their brains,” she says. “I’m like, ‘So what happened when you…?’ I’m so nosy! I have to know everything!”) Sam Smith joined her on stage to duet. But there’s one artist she can’t believe reached out: “I won’t say who it is because I don't know if we’re allowed, but she’s my biggest living idol,” Spiro says coyly. “That was the greatest thing that's ever happened in my entire life.”

It’s even better than making a fan out of her once-biggest critic: her dad. “I always tell him,” she says, laughing. “I’m like, ‘See, I told you!’”

A little inclement weather may have set back some of the artists’ set times at this year’s Gov Ball, but the rain wasn’t going to stop the girls and gays from popping out for acts like Lorde or turning looks in the name of music-festival style.

Over the years, there has been a shift towards a less, shall we say, intense approach to festival dressing. Where the early 2010s saw the boom of Coachella bring about sequined tops, flower crowns, and extravagantly distressed denim, the name of the game in this decade is easy. I set sail for Flushing Meadows Corona Park this year with Puma Suede sneakers in tow, the better to stand for hours on end to see acts like Slayyyter, Fcukers, and Wet Leg. It also was a no-brainer when it came to getting dressed every morning: I wore the same pair of shoes all three days.

On Friday, it was all about Lorde and Katseye, and with the first day came the feeling of wanting to go all-out. I paired my Suedes with denim shorts, a Puma KING jersey in blue, and wrap-around shades. The sporty summer vibe was in full effect, both onstage with acts like King Princess in sweatpants and on the festival grounds, where mesh shorts, bikini tops, and sneakers all set the tone for no-nonsense dressing.

Saturday was the longest day, and the one that saw the festival cut short an hour due to the hurricane-style rainstorm New York received in the evening. Function over form was the name of the game — despite me wearing a white T-shirt — and I matched my vintage navy top with vintage camo shorts, and yes, the same pair of Puma Suedes in navy. The holes in my shirt acted as ventilation, and my shoes were pre-coated with dust from the day before, so I didn’t need to worry about dirtying another pair of sneakers.

The last day of a music festival is something like a spiritual and literal hangover, and we kept it chill with sets like Blood Orange, Holly Humberstone, and Japanese Breakfast. Puma was along for the ride, this time with a pink pair of denim capris from Sanderlak and an old Gosha Rubchinskiy T-shirt, cropped for the right proportions. The skate-lite feel of the look was offset by a Balenciaga city bag, which was not the most ideal bag to tote while head-banging to Slayyyter, but helped tremendously in taking home the flag I copped at her set.

So, with all the outfit explanations in the world, what can you take away for your summer outings to festivals in the U.S. and beyond? It’s not so much about turning a look anymore (unless you’re a die-hard Eyekon and need to match Lara), and more about being able to move from set to set without getting blisters. I clocked 17,000 steps a day, and while my feet experienced the usual soreness expected from a weekend festival, it wasn’t anything compared to when I’ve worn leather boots at Coachella. Puma’s Suedes were both the key accessory of the weekend and the piece I thought about least in the morning — not because they’re not stylish, but because relying on the same pair of shoes for the whole weekend took the guessing out of outfit equations for me, and I knew they’d match with whatever I chose.

Go for a little sporty, a little skater, and definitely relaxed look this festival season. Making a statement can be saved for when you’re in close proximity to your house, not when running from Fcukers at 3:45 p.m. to Geese at 4:45 p.m. See our complete style guide below.

In approximately 30 hours, Rose Gray will make her grand entrance — one that involves being carried on two men’s shoulders through a crowd of 700 adoring fans — into her sold out concert at Le Poisson Rouge in Greenwich Village. One problem: Her luggage is still in London. “I can see it; I’ve got an AirTag. It’s in the airport on the tarmac,” Gray tells NYLON.

She’s surprisingly calm given the circumstances (the suitcase was filled with clothes that she got on loan for tour), though she’s fully aware that she might be “canceled from the fashion world” if she can’t get the clothes back. From the outside, you wouldn’t even know she’s in the midst of a clothing crisis; when we meet under the red lights at Chelsea Studios, Gray sports a mini denim skirt, black pumps, and white half-sleeve button down covered in hand-drawn designs and phrases, including one that reads “Made in Italy.” She bought it while on tour in Paris.

The pieces were cleverly packed in her personal suitcase, which did make it to New York, but she still might need to do some shopping before she hits the stage tomorrow to supplement the missing pieces. “With the show, there’s a whole little through line,” Gray explains. “It starts off in my bedroom getting ready for the night out, and it goes through the whole night, which is why the fact that my clothes are missing is quite important because there’s some real key changes that happen on stage.”

Prior to losing her luggage, the electro pop singer was in Los Angeles, where she joined Demi Lovato on stage at the Kia Forum for a surprise performance of “Joshua Tree” during Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep tour. Gray was understandably nervous — it was the biggest venue she had ever played to date — but at least she got a taste of arena life before her upcoming supporting stint on Tove Lo’s Estrus tour later this year. “It was mad,” Gray says of the experience. “I grew up on Demi. I was a Camp Rock girl. I’ve always loved her, and I love her new record.”

She loved it so much, in fact, that she DM’d Lovato to get on the remix. “She didn’t follow me, so I was like, ‘She’s never going to see this,’” Gray recalls. “I just asked if I could be on [‘Joshua Tree’] because that was my favorite song on the record. Quite a while after, she replied and was like, ‘Oh, my God, Rose, love your work.’”

Given that we’re meeting at a recording studio, I have to ask the question on everyone’s mind: Does she have any new music on the horizon? The answer is yes: On June 12, Gray will release her new single, “Club to Your Arms,” a maximalist house smash in which she delivers a powerful, anthemic vocal performance unlike anything else in her discography. It’s a new direction for her, one that Gray, a former jazz singer, has been sitting on for a while. “I’ve always been a vocalist,” she says. “I was a little bit mute for a while; I love to speak-sing, and I love a very chill vocal. But this next single, and my next record, I’m channeling my big pop-girl voice.”

The song will be Gray’s first drop following the release of her 2025 debut album Louder, Please and its deluxe edition, A Little Louder, Please. It’s a solid proof of life for Record No. 2, even if Gray is a bit cagey about what’s to come. “[The new record is] like my little baby,” she says. “I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but it’s coming.” One thing fans can expect, however, is more of the same Rose Gray you know and love. “A lot of people said, ‘For your next album, you’re going to do another era,’” says the pop star. “I’m like, obviously it’s going to be a new phase, but I’m not going to completely leave behind what I’m doing because I’m still forming it.”

Remember when we were all convinced it was 2016 again? We might not’ve been so far off base after all. Today, Mitski released a tenth anniversary deluxe edition of Puberty 2 complete with two new song covers — one of which is very mid-2010s-coded.

At 13 tracks long, the project features all your favorites from the original 2016 album and two bonus tracks: a cover of Frank Sinatra’s “I’m A Fool To Want You” and a cover of One Direction’s “Fireproof.” Both are certainly a departure from the original source material, while also being quintessentially Mitski; clocking in at just under two minutes long, “Fireproof” sees Mitski putting a rockist spin on the Fleetwood Mac-esque love song, with her wailing vocals soaring over the punchy guitars with such a force that Harry and co. could never recreate. The former, on the other hand, is giving Sinatra-but-make-it-shoegaze.

The covers are exclusive to the digital version of the album (available to stream now), with the limited edition 10th anniversary vinyl dropping on Oct. 30.

Whether or not it’s 2016 again still remains to be seen, though we can’t deny that this is pretty solid evidence in favor of the 2016-issance.

The chaos of a global press tour is often hidden behind beautifully lit photos on red carpets and glamorous runway looks, but the reality is that moving across the world comes with its own challenges. Case in point: Priyanka Kedia, who has a role in Steven Spielberg’s new alien epic Disclosure Day, was all systems a go to the New York premiere when her car got hit from behind en route. Never fear: She made it in style (and safely!) to Lincoln Center for the first major red-carpet moment of her career for what will be one of the biggest movies of the summer.

Kedia acts in Disclosure Day alongside some of Hollywood’s brightest stars, like Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, and Colman Domingo, the latter of whom Kedia calls a “walking angel”: “I learned so much from him on set. Chanel No. 5, meets Knicks in five.

On Monday, June 8th, Madison Square Garden may have had Chalamet, Jeter, and David, but some fifty blocks south, an even starrier cheering squad had assembled: Pidgeon! Coppola! Edebiri! David! The occasion? Chanel’s annual Tribeca Artists Film Dinner.

Now in its 19th year, the evening celebrates artists who have contributed original artwork to the award-winning filmmakers of the 2026 Tribeca Festival (this year also marks the festival’s 25th anniversary). This year’s festivities also served as soft re-opening of Tribeca Grill. The famed downtown eatery, formerly owned by Robert De Niro, closed its doors in March 2025, but will soon be resurrected under the stewardship of Major Food Group, alongside Robert De Niro and Ira Drukier, in 2027. Much to celebrate, even before the Knicks took the floor.

The excitement in the room, whether it be over the looming game or any of the evening’s many milestones, was undeniable. In one corner, Sofia Coppola complimented Sarah Pidgeon’s bright blonde, still in Carolyn Bessette perfection; “I have a great person if you want to make a change,” Pidgeon offered back. It Girl of the moment Inde Navarrette held court at the bar with pal Whitney Peak, sipping martinis; nearby, Cazzie David posed for pictures with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cole Escola. Also circulating the room: Teyana Taylor, Keke Palmer, Ayo Edebiri, Finneas and Claudia Sulewski, Alex Consani, Molly Gordon, Chase Sui Wonders, Camila Morrone, Katie Holmes, Robert De Niro, and many more.

As the first course of salad and shrimp cocktail hit the table, screens came down throughout the dining room, projecting the game throughout and pausing only when De Niro offered a toast to Jane Rosenthal, along with video messages from Leonardo DiCaprio, Spike Lee, and more. By the time the dessert course was passed around, Knicks fever had fully taken over the room: baseball caps had been distributed, blue and orange cookies served, and a fleet of black cars parked outside, ready to take everyone home in time to make the fourth quarter.

New York City is experiencing generational levels of good energy these days, so much so that not even a little rain over Gov Ball weekend could kill the vibe.

Our faves including Lorde, A$AP Rocky, Jennie, and Katseye all helped usher in the official kick-off to NYC festival season over the weekend, and naturally, we were there for it all. Backstage, Del Water Gap showed off his seasonably-inappropriate suit with a cheeky ‘fit check, Ravyn Lenae touched grass, and Japanese Breakfast posed with the best accessory of the weekend: her baby bump. By the end of the three-day bender, our shoes were soaked, our ears were ringing, and our music-loving hearts were full.

For her MAC Viva Glam collection, Roan created three signature shades: a classic cherry red matte lipstick inspired by her hair (MACximal Silky Matte Viva Glam Lipstick in UnNatural Red Head), a glossy plum lipstick-balm hybrid (Viva Glam LustreGlass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in Roan of Arc), and a purple-red shiny gloss (Viva Glam Lipglass Air Non-Sticky Gloss In Damnsel). “This campaign is meant to be inclusive and represent a different type of glamour,” Roan tells NYLON exclusively. “I hope the weird art kids and people who are down to be different, dramatic, and bold all see themselves reflected here, but all are welcome.”

Roan teamed up with makeup artist Andrew Dahling again to create the looks for this campaign shot by Inez & Vinoodh. Dahling imagined what Chappell would look like in “a hyperbolic 1940s film as a romantic aristocratic empress,” or as our modern-day Joan of Arc, which she’s shown us before at the VMAs. Her porcelain skin and intricate eye looks pair perfectly with the trio of lip products, which range from matte deep plum to shiny pearlescent pink-reds.

Not only does the trio of shades fit right in with Roan’s retro take on glamour, but 100 percent of the sales will go to Viva Glam charities to promote sexual, environment, and racial justice around the world. Roan’ foundation, The Midwest Princess Project, is also receiving a $300,000 donation from MAC. In a time when LGBTQ+ rights are actively being stripped away in the United States, having real, actionable change through beauty is a refreshing step. “All of my work, from music to The Midwest Princess Project to being a part of Viva Glam, is an extension of my vision to help bring people together from all corners of life and to advocate for change,” Roan tells NYLON.

Viva Glam is MAC’s commitment to community and change, and Roan joins a long list of collaborators from the music world to affect change, like Rihanna, Rosalía, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga. Roan’s MAC Viva Glam collection will be available in MAC stores and online at maccosmetics.com on June 11.

Ella Hunt feels like she’s in an endless sea of Thursdays. We meet for tea at The Marlton Hotel the Monday of what will probably be the busiest week of her career: The next day, her new show, the Mindy Kaling-created comedy Not Suitable for Work, will premiere on Hulu and Disney+, and on Friday, she’ll release Blindspot, her debut album. “I’m the dummy that decided to put out an album the week a TV show is coming out,” the British entertainer, 28, tells NYLON. “I feel like I’m in midweek madness, and I’m just trying to keep my head.”

The third installment in a trilogy of shows exploring Kaling’s relationship to young adulthood, Not Suitable for Work follows young professionals AJ Pascarelli (played by Hunt), Abby Chilukuri (Avantika Vandanapu), Josh Teitelbaum (Jack Martin), Kel Washington (Nicholas Duvernay), and Davis Beau Bradley Barrett III (Will Angus) as they navigate life in New York City. The show is teeming with Kaling’s signature comedic cultural commentary (the most famous person in the show’s universe is Cate Blanchett’s nephew, naturally), and yes, there’s even a “Nora Efron-esque” rom-com subplot à la The Mindy Project. “[Mindy Kaling] is really f*cking phenomenal,” says Hunt. “I loved working with Mindy and was really impressed at her ability to make me and the other cast members feel at ease and at home and like an equal. She’s very self-deprecating and warm, and very hardworking, and [she] kind of instilled that in all of us.”

Somehow in the midst of the crazy New York shooting schedule, Hunt also managed to find the time to work on Blindspot. It was initially written in December 2023 around the loss of her sister, Emily, to brain cancer and recorded six months later, but Hunt’s busy acting schedule barred her from entering the production phase for a long stretch of time. In fall 2025, she booked a residency at Café Carlyle while filming NSFW and realized the album wasn’t as complete as she thought it was. “Playing with the band made me realize that there was a spirit that I wanted to get on the record that wasn’t there yet,” says Hunt. “So I went back into the studio while we were shooting on the weekends, and recorded with the band.”

From there, she was able to capture the spirit of “how I sounded as a kid playing the piano in the kitchen” with minimal vocal processing, layering, overdubs, comped takes, and mixing. “We barely touched it,” the Dickinson actor says. “I wanted it to sound like how you would experience me sat in the room together.” In the end, she walked away with an album that’s just as raw as the circumstance under which it was written. But with radical honesty comes a level of discomfort as well. “I’m a little nervous about [putting out] ‘Dove Grey,’” she admits. “It’s the one on the record that’s most personal, and it has so many details of my family that I really toyed with whether or not to put it out.”

“I love playing it live,” she continues. “It feels like a really important moment of the live set, and to be able to talk gently about palliative care and the light that it cast my family in, it is a very lovely thing to get to do. It’s really sensitive, but writing that song felt like a gateway into everything else and gave me permission to be a little bit more poetic and expansive in my exploration of grief.”

Even now, four days before the album’s release, she still has her reservations. “I’m fearful about the next chapter of this body of work’s existence,” Hunt says. “‘Fearful’ may be the wrong word, but I have a lot of anticipation about how to do this next step in the process, and I’m only going to learn about it through doing it.”

Needless to say, she’s already learned one valuable lesson: To space out the release of her next acting and music projects. “For me, acting sort of feels like an inhale. It’s a lot of taking in information and listening,” says Hunt. “Music feels like an exhalation; a kind of release and relief and a freedom. So it actually feels really good to me to do them at the same time… but putting them out at the same time is chaotic as f*ck.”

Before you go spending all your money on Phoebe Bridgers’ upcoming tour, you should know that Charli xcx is also hitting the road this fall.

The “360” singer announced the North American leg of the Music, Fashion, Film Tour on June 8, just one week after sharing that her forthcoming album of the same name drops on July 24. “Soooo excited to announce the Music, Fashion, Film Tour !” Charli wrote on Instagram. “Can’t wait to party together again, it’s gonna be cute xx.”

The tour kicks off on Sept. 11 in Philadelphia, with the 33-year-old making stops in 10 cities across 12 nights before wrapping the run in Las Vegas on Oct. 23.

In all seriousness, Lacy has clearly moved on from the hazy, DIY&B that he helped popularize, and we need someone to fill that gap. From his carefully chosen guitar chords to his affecting vocal affectation, we should be so lucky to have a studied successor like Todd.

“Too Easy” by Tinashe

Fans will moan and gripe about how this song isn’t long enough, but Tinashe knows to always leave them wanting more. To make her grand return with a track this short (and this great), we can only assume that the best is yet to come.

“Point Blank” by Kelela

Laced with the shoegaze sound of her previous two singles while still honoring her clubby dance DNA, Kelela is three for three on singles for this era.

“Don’t Break Her Heart” by FLO

Every generation has the obligatory song about female friendship it deserves: The ‘90s had “Wannabe,” the 2000s had “Girl,” the 2010s had “Best Friend,” and the 2020s have “Don’t Break Her Heart.”

“Snake The Drain” by Devon Again

A very surprising country turn for an alt-pop artist, but Devon Again wears the genre like a pair of well worn cowboy boots. The last 30 seconds are pure sonic bliss.

“Wax Paper” by Tierra Whack

A dirty, disgusting beat with an even nastier flow. 10/10.

“Candyland!” by Natanya

Natanya is not of this planet; while your fave is at home writing songs about the same three topics, the 23-year-old Brit has just passed “Go” in Candyland. Saccharine and syrupy, this track really does go down like candy, and leaves an insatiable aftertaste that can only be cured with more Natanya.

“Ugly and Rotten” by Mckenna Grace

Probably the biggest shock of the week comes from Mckenna Grace — a no-nonsense track that genuinely rocks, and pairs Grace’s sweet, innocent vocals with punchy guitars and driving drums. It just goes to show: You never know what’s going on in actors’ heads.

“Dove Grey” by Ella Hunt

A heartbreakingly honest depiction of end-of-life care and the pain that comes with it. If grief had a color, it would definitely be dove grey.

When we predicted it was going to be a Phoebe Bridgers fall, we had no idea that our big-brained theories and red string conspiracies would be confirmed so soon. Today, Bridgers announced she’s going on tour, and you can expect to see her live in — you guessed it — the fall.

The 35-show Lost Tour kicks off on Sept. 15 in Indianapolis, Indiana, with the 31-year-old making stops at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, Inglewood’s Intuit Dome, Dublin’s 3Arena, and London’s O2 before wrapping her run in Stockholm, Sweden on Dec. 12.

If you’ve been keeping up with the singer, you know she has spent the last month playing private, no-phones-allowed, pop-up shows all over the country. After watching our French and Italian friends kick off their summers last week, we were wondering when that first true night of the season would arrive. It came in the middle of the week, with a list of parties in one night that had us stretching our Citi Bike memberships and hopping in and out of cars long after the Knicks took the first game of the NBA Finals. The sunglasses brand on every A-lister’s temple is like the Rolls Royce of eyewear, with a deathly chic commitment to old-school glamour and unparalleled craftsmanship. They toasted to their Soho gallery with a who’s who crowd of young style stars and legends alike, who all were enraptured by an intimate Patti Smith performance.

Fiametta & Unemployed Sparkle With Pride

The high-jewelry brand Fiametta is led by Merill Hollander, who knows that New York girls want to throw on their jewelry and hit the dance floor. Hollander hosted a dinner and party to toast to her second Pride collection for alongside Unemployed, where guests like Ella Emhoff and Camille Charrière were witness to a vow renewal by Chani Nicholas and some seriously good dancing (don’t worry, the Knicks game was playing above the bar).

Canada Goose Is For All Seasons

The label behind your favorite down jacket doesn’t want to be tied to only winter, and they proved they can have fun with the summer set with a casual cocktail at Dimes that saw all manner of fashion insiders spilling out onto Canal Street. The hero piece, of course, was the sculptural white Negroni tower that took up much of the restaurant.

Eckhaus Latta & Mango Twist & Shout

We are head over heels for the two brands’ collaboration, which looks best under the lights of a bar late at night. Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, alongside a very fashionable crowd, put that to the test with a toast to the collection at Nine Orchard. And just in case you needed more convincing on how comfortable the clothes are, two acrobatic couples spent the night contorting in the green T-shirt and funky cutout leggings.

De Beers London Shines At Night

The jewelry brand behind our favorite red-carpet moments launched the Lotus collection, and hosted a darkly lit, old-school dinner at Caffe Zaffri at The Twenty Two New York with the help of the city’s finest like Beverly Nguyen and Gabriella Khalil. To bring home that old-fashioned dinner and a show feel, Ella Hunt took to the keys for the lucky listeners.

LadoubleJ Makes New York Its Home

There was a time when a finsta was sacred.

The finsta — or "fake Instagram," for those less acquainted — emerged as an antidote to the polished tyranny of the main feed sometime in the mid-2010s. Under private accounts with inconspicuous handles and profile pictures ripped from obscure memes existed a protected ecosystem of bad angles, inside jokes, and diaristic captions written at 2:17 a.m. While your primary account functioned as a carefully curated portfolio of who you wanted people to think you were, your finsta was reserved for who you actually were. But most importantly, it wasn't for everyone. The audience was intentionally small as a finsta was never trying to perform in numbers but simply make twelve people, give or take, laugh.

Which is exactly why celebrities are suddenly obsessed with them again.

Over the past few months, a growing number of musicians, actors, designers, and who’s who have launched secondary Instagram accounts that feel suspiciously similar to the finstas many of us have maintained since high school. From Rachel Sennott’s free feet pics to Audrey Hobert’s Poot memes, Addison Rae’s head-scratchingly nondescript still lifes, and Zara Larsson taking over the closest thing to a collab finsta, these accounts aren't necessarily revealing major secrets so much as documenting the beautifully banal details that make up a personality. Even brands are buying in on the secondary account economy now; just last week, Balenciaga creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli revealed @keeppprolling, strewn with exclusive Sarah Pidgeon selfies, behind-the-scenes dispatches, and the kind of seemingly random and unpolished ephemera that would never make it onto Balenciaga’s main.

Of course, calling these accounts "finstas" isn't entirely accurate. Traditional finstas were private by design, built for a carefully vetted audience of friends rather than hundreds of thousands of followers. Nobody was building a brand on their finsta. The entire appeal was that it existed outside the performance.

What these creatives are cultivating instead is something closer to a faux-finsta (ffinsta?): a public-facing account that mimics the aesthetics of intimacy without actually limiting access. The audience may be massive, but the goal is to make it feel small — but crucially, not too small.

These accounts don’t actually want to stay hidden. They want to be found, though not too easily or by everyone at once. There’s a new kind of social signaling at play here: the desire to appear like a private, in-the-know space while still letting the algorithm do what it does best, which is surface it to the “right” people. If you get it, you get it — and the platform will know where to find you.

Perhaps the clearest blueprint came from Charli xcx. Long before Music, Fashion, Film’s @b.sides, there was “360_brat”, the account that became essential viewing during the Brat era. It wasn't merely promotional, but functioned as an extension of the project's lime green, hyper-referential world-building by rewarding her inner-most circle of fans who wanted to dig deeper. Kicking off in summer 2024 (perhaps better known as “Brat summer”), exclusive BTS snaps of Charli and co. were posted to the grid, and time sensitive clues and cryptic updates were posted to the Instagram Story, including the coordinates leading to unspecified-events-turned-cultural-touchstone moments like the Brat Wall concert in Williamsburg. To be a “true fan” suddenly required participation (and the elusive follow request approval). You weren't simply consuming the campaign, but helping decode it.

That's increasingly what these celebrity "finstas" offer. Not access in the traditional sense, but context. While the main account delivers the polished, filtered artifact, the secondary account reveals the references, jokes, and screenshots that helped create it.

The irony, of course, is that the original finsta emerged as a refuge from self-branding — a place to escape the pressure of performing a version of yourself online. Today's celebrity finstas do the opposite. They're not a rejection of branding, but its latest evolution. It's no longer enough to simply make the work; audiences expect public figures to embody the world around it, too. The strongest personal brands today aren't selling a single flawless image so much as a fully realized, sometimes messy character complete with cultural literacy. And ladies and gentleman, the people want lore!

If your summer travel plans don’t include a week on a catamaran in the Mediterranean, fear not: We have a collection that channels the energy of the European jaunts of our dreams mixed with the sweaty, sticky city style that comes with extreme temperatures. The Spanish brains at Mango are back with a must-have collab for summer from the minds of New York legends at Eckhaus Latta.

Last summer, it was London’s Supriya Lele who gave us the gift of weird sandals and slinky dresses, but this summer, it’s Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta who have crafted a collection of ready-to-wear and accessories that are ready to beat the heat. “The Mango design team is brilliant, and we will miss the singularity of our experience working with them. For a brand of our scale, it was very enriching to work with such a large and dynamic infrastructure. Truly night and day,” Eckhaus tells NYLON exclusively. “The collection was inspired by the general idea of summer: the pleasure and palpable excitement that comes with summer dressing.”

It’s hard not to take pleasure in the intentionally undone clothes they cooked up, which feel right in line with their own label but ready for the masses to enjoy. Highlights include a wacky matching set of tank top & capri leggings with folds of cutouts, a tie-back minidress, and wrap skirts in various patterns and colors. A zygote-looking pattern appears on a bra top, which is really the hero silhouette of the collection and aligns with our findings from last summer (the bikini is still the going-out top of choice). Elsewhere, strong shirting and some other swim options round out the offering.

“Initially we were looking at it through the lens of Americans fetishizing the ‘European Summer,’ but as the collection progressed it naturally became a triangulation between NYC, LA, and the Mediterranean,” Eckhaus states, and the fever dream of a Euro Summer comes through not only in the clothes themselves, but the styling. Consider the single chunky necklace paired with the swimwear, or the arm cuffs worn with swim and dresses alike (there’s that upper-arm shim sham Alexa Chung told me about), and men’s shirting tucked into delicate skirts, offset by sporty sunglasses and a chunky heel. The intention is evident through each piece, which never weighs down, and is never overstyled. It’s the ultimate luxury of tying a sarong around your itty-bitty shorts, knowing you will surely whip it off once the day reaches its maximum temperature.

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Pacha New York (guilty), now you can be one of the first to experience everything that the new outpost of the legendary nightlife institution has to offer. Ahead of the nightclub’s opening weekend on June 20-21, Pacha New York will be opening its doors a week early for Unblocked, a block party hosted by Rampa of the German electronic music record label Keinemusik, on June 14, and NYLON has all the exclusive details.

Pulling inspiration from Brooklyn’s longstanding tradition of neighborhood block parties, Unblocked is bringing music, art, food, games, and even skateboarding to Pacha New York. The party will double as a pre-opening celebration and a first look at the reimagined space, with a skate competition hosted by Evan Mock, interactive games, surprise pop-ups, and activations throughout the Great Hall.

Of course, you can’t have a block party without community, which is why Unblocked has tapped an array of emerging and established artists for the celebration, including Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Gia Fu, Tony Touch, Kitty Ca$h, Kilopatrah Jones, Né, Inbal, Rampa, and more.

Unblocked is slated to be a one-day affair, but the party actually begins on June 13 with Unlocked, an open-air house music journey also curated by Rampa.

While you’re out enjoying your PTO, Brooks Nader will be having a working-girl summer. It feels like the TV personality has been everywhere recently (did you catch her at Miami Swim Week last weekend?), but this summer, she’ll be home in L.A. pulling double duty as she films the Baywatch reboot and Love Thy Nader, the reality show she shares with her three sisters Sarah Jane, Grace Ann, and Mary Holland. In fact, she’s in the middle of filming the “chaotic” new season when we chat over the phone. “It’s a totally different ball game from Season 1,” Nader tells NYLON. “I'm so excited for everyone to see it.”

Naturally, Nader has had to adopt a new “clean girl energy” to keep up with her hectic filming schedule. No more spicy, sugary cocktails — it’s all about wine these days. And if she’s going to be snacking, it’s going to be on SkinnyDipped almonds. As the brand’s newest ambassador, you might think the 29-year-old just keeps a bag of almonds in her trailer to fulfill a contract. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. “[SkinnyDipped] wanted [to partner] because they saw it in the background of all my set bags everywhere, so it really just came about so organically,” she says.

In between call times and last looks, we dialed in with Nader on set to chat about her summer plans, the benefits of skinny dipping, and her new ambassador role.

How is Baywatch filming going?

It’s a blast. I'm there all week this week. My happy place is being on that set. Everyone in America is going to thoroughly enjoy it. Everything I've seen so far, I've left feeling happier than I was when I sat down and I think it's just what we all need as a country right now. It's feel-good, it's drama. It's a lot of hot people on the beach. What more can you ask for?

I can't wait to see it. So what drew you to this partnership with SkinnyDipped?

I always say this, but my partnerships always come from a place of just truly being a fan of the product. Especially with Baywatch and having to be a little bit stronger in my health and actually be agile and athletic, I found myself really loving eating healthier and working out a lot more. I've been a fan [of SkinnyDipped] since day one, and when they came to us with the idea to partner, I was like, “This makes sense.” I'm staring at SkinnyDipped right now. I'm like, should I just chow down as we're interviewing?

What will be the first order of business as ambassador of SkinnyDipped?

In true me fashion, you have to actually skinny dip either in the ocean or in the pool to celebrate anything, but especially a SkinnyDipped partnership. So maybe a skinny dipping party at my house in LA on a day I'm not filming Baywatch.

It's a great time to announce this ambassadorship considering SkinnyDipped makes for such a good poolside or beach snack. What other essentials are you going to be bringing to the beach this summer?

You have to bring a smile and a good attitude and tanning oil. I tell my sisters that all the time. And obviously you need a good little cocktail in hand. That's my perfect recipe for a beach day.

What do you think your drink of the summer will be?

I’m always and forever a skinny, spicy margarita girly, but lately I have been loving, loving, loving rosé and white wine. My sisters are like, "You literally look like an old washed up housewife over there with your glass of Chardonnay." And I'm like, I don't really care. But I haven't really been able to do my usual partying and going out because I have to be so on for Baywatch physically, which is why I'm in my new era with SkinnyDipped and being a healthier girly, which I'm actually loving. [Wine] doesn't really f*ck me up, but I think it's just better that I stay in my full clean girl energy for Baywatch.

What is your top contender for a song of the summer this year?

I am obsessed with house music. I love Black Coffee and Rüfüs Du Sol. Obviously we're from Louisiana, so we love Lil Wayne. We love Britney Spears, the classics.

Other than filming, do you have any fun summer plans?

To be totally honest with you, I'm filming both Love Thy Nader and Baywatch all summer but I'm trying to sneak away to Europe for a couple of weeks in August. Talk about skinny dipping — my happiest place to skinny dip is in the Med. So I'm trying to work that out now, but I'm a working girl this summer. I've never worked all summer, so this is a first.

I was wondering if a Euro summer was in your future.

Hell yeah. I'll do anything to get to Europe. But right now we're LA Girlies filming two shows, which I wouldn't have it any other way.

How do you balance filming two shows at once?

The great part about Love Thy Nader is that they're really just capturing what's really, truly going on in our real lives. It's kind of gotten to be second nature. There's nothing scripted, nothing pre-planned or curated. We're just four crazy girls from Louisiana, so it's pretty chaotic at all times. With Baywatch, it's special because Love Thy Nader is able to get onto set and see the behind the scenes of all of that. This is kind of a dream scenario.

Are there any tips you would give to someone who is skinny-dipping curious?

Just go for it, don't think about it. Take a shot, have some rosé. It's really healthy for your body to be naked in the sun. There's science behind it. Just think about your health and wellness. This is good for you.

When was the last time you went skinny dipping?

I'm looking at my pool right now and I'm like, should I go in right now? I went skinny dipping in Cannes in France. I found this tiny little random place that there was no one there and me and my sisters jumped in naked… We are total nudists in my family.

There’s nothing like the promise of summer. The haze of sunscreen and saltwater; daylight stretching into dusk. Popsicles and primary colors. And nobody does it quite like J.Crew.

For the upcoming season, the brand is leaning into the ultimate nostalgia of the balmy months with Camp Crew, a new campaign that revels in all things Americana — and reunites some of the most famous supermodels of the past decade. Meet your 2026 camp counselors: Martha Hunt, Jasmine Tookes, Sara Sampaio, Josephine Skriver, and Taylor Hill.

“As we were designing our June collection, we kept returning to this idea of ‘Camp Rockaway’ and the visual language of a classic American summer,” says Olympia Gayot, creative director and head of women’s and kids’ design. “What I love about camp as a reference is that it naturally brings together so many of the things that define American style. There’s an ease to it, but also a sense of optimism and personality. The clothes are practical, but they’re also expressive. You have sporty elements sitting alongside romantic ones. There’s a bit of uniform dressing, but everyone wears it their own way.”

The campaign, out today, sees the former Victoria’s Secret Angels — and longtime friends — after hours at camp (specifically, Camp Seeley, famously featured in 1998’s The Parent Trap), engaging in activities reserved for campers: water guns, archery, the works. The models are styled in brightly hued bathing suits, with signature Gayot touches woven throughout: a Kelly green rollneck over a cobalt bikini bottom; T-shirts and striped button-downs tied just so.

“The collection draws on many of the codes that have defined J.Crew for decades,” she says. “What’s interesting is that none of it feels archival. The styling, proportions, and color make it feel contemporary. That’s always the goal — to honor what people love about J.Crew while continuing to move it forward.”

The nostalgia, she adds, isn’t just aesthetic — it’s intentional. “I think nostalgia becomes interesting when there’s a little tension. If something is too faithful to the past, it can feel like a costume,” she says. “It needs to be irreverent, with a studied carelessness. What I appreciate about the Camp Crew campaign is that it embraces that spirit. It’s not presenting an idealized version of summer — it’s presenting one that feels lived-in and slightly chaotic.”

The all-star cast doesn’t hurt. “Bringing together this group of women people recognize creates an immediate emotional connection to a different time, but the storytelling keeps it from feeling like a simple throwback,” she continues.

On the morning before the campaign launch, across multiple countries and time zones, all five models hopped on a call with NYLON to chat about their own versions of summer nostalgia, what it’s like to reunite on set, and more.

How did it feel for the five of you to have this big J.Crew–orchestrated reunion?

Sara Sampaio: I found out at a fitting. I had no idea. They kept saying, “Oh, Jasmine and Taylor are coming,” and I was like, my Jasmine and my Taylor? Then I realized it was all of us, and I got really excited. I see Jasmine all the time, but I don’t get to see Martha, Jo, or Taylor as often. It felt like the old days shooting Victoria’s Secret.

Josephine Skriver: We rarely get to shoot together like that anymore. It felt like a throwback class reunion.

You shot where The Parent Trap (1998) was filmed. Did it feel actually being at camp?

Josephine: I’ve actually never gone to camp — it always felt like a very American concept to me — but it felt like being on a movie set. Very camp, from what I’ve seen on TV.

Taylor Hill: I never went to camp either, but I was a Girl Scout and went camping with my family. I learned survival skills like how to make a fire, tie knots. Not sure I can still do any of it now.

Sara: I went to camp one summer as a kid. We slept in tents, which was fun. I think the U.S. does it a little differently, though.

Martha Hunt: I went twice to a treehouse camp that I found in a church brochure. I convinced my parents to let me go, and we stayed in these treehouse cabins. It was magical. I have very good camp memories.

Jasmine Tookes: I did not go to camp growing up, but I will say that J. Crew did such a good job bringing back that nostalgic '90s J. Crew feel. The whole mood and vibe of the shoot was awesome. It felt very All-American; there was a dog running around and the photographer had incredible energy so it was making all of us laugh.

Josephine: Jas’s right. It made me wish I had gone to camp. I was sitting there like, "Oh, this would've been fun to do.”

When was the last time you’d all seen each other?

Jasmine: All together? It’s been a minute.

Martha: A long time. I haven’t seen Jo in particular — oh wait, we did the Prabal [Gurung] show.

Sara: Was it Taylor’s wedding?

Josephine: I missed Taylor’s wedding because I was too pregnant. It might’ve been before COVID.

Martha: Everyone’s on a different schedule always. But it was so fun seeing everybody. That was the most fun shoot day I've had in ages. We picked right back up. We did make a plan to do a yearly reunion and I hope we stick to it.

Do you fall back into familiar roles when you’re back on set together?

Josephine: I've never really thought of us having roles. More just good energies and vibes. I mean, some of us are more morning people than others, so it’s like, “you do makeup first.”

Martha: In the earlier VS days, maybe there were more defined roles of what different angels represented, but I think it changed over time. It became less like someone needs to be the sexy one, someone needs to be the fun one.

If you were camp counselors for the day, what would each of you be in charge of?

Sara: Anything water-related.

Taylor: I would be a pretty laid back [counselor]. I probably would be in charge of the arts and craft activities.

Martha: Jo would be the hula hoop queen.

Josephine: I did hula hoop a lot on set.

Martha:Sara and Jo were also both excellent archers. I was new to the archery game. I still have a lot to learn.

Sara: I got a huge bruise on my arm.

Martha: Did you guys have splinters all over your hands afterwards?

Jasmine: It was from the rope. I had the worst splinters.

Martha: That makes sense. I didn't even realize until a couple of days later and I was like, "Why are my hands swelling? What's going on?”

What nostalgic summer memories came up for you during the shoot?

Sara: When I think about summer, I just think about being at the beach because that's kind of what we did every summer in Portugal. We've just spent the whole summer at the beach. Being tanned, a little bit sunburnt, in the sun and sand — for me, that's what summer is.

Martha: Same. I grew up going to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

Josephine: I didn't realize that was a real place. For me, it’s beaches but a little less tropical. If we were lucky, we would go somewhere warm, but mostly it was a summer house on the coastline and on-and-off rain and sun. Danish summers are definitely a little bit more chill.

Jasmine: The mood board alone that J. Crew had just exuded this fun, fresh summer. Almost like you're in the Hamptons with beautiful, bright primary colors. It just really felt like pure J.Crew. It was so nostalgic and beautiful.

Sara: This was my first time working with J.Crew and I've always been a fan of their campaigns. They just always bring such a happy vibe to their campaigns.Nowadays, everything is just lacking color: movies, TV shows, photos. And it's just such a fresh take to finally see colors again.

Martha:: My sister and I grew up looking forward to getting the J. Crew catalog, and what always stood out was the styling. There was such an iconic way they were styled where you would see mixing prints that didn't make sense together, but your eye was so drawn to that contrast. In terms of sexy, what I thought was really beautiful about the way we were shot was that sometimes sexiness can be implied and that's a really beautiful way of being sensual, like a sweater over a bikini versus just the full thing right in your face. I like that it implies leaving something to the imagination.

What are some of your favorite memories together over the years?

Sara: After the Victoria’s Secret show in China, we rented a house in Thailand and stayed for a week. That was so fun.

Martha: I missed that because I was moving at the time.

Sara: St. Barths for the swim special was also incredible. It felt like one big party.

Josephine: I’m impressed photos even came out of that.

Final question: What’s your early pick for song of the summer?

Taylor: That’s hard. I don’t know if I have a specific song in mind. I’ve been loving the new Harry Styles album and I also love Sabrina Carpenter, as well as Olivia Dean.

Josephine: Zara Larsson’s “Midnight Sun.”

Sara: I don't want to say yet because Olivia Rodrigo is coming out with an album, Gracie Abrams is coming out with an album. There's so many new albums about to come out. But so far my favorite song of the summer is Raye’s “ Where's My Husband?”

Jasmine: That is Sara’s jam. Mine is anything by Rufus du Sol. It feels like you're driving down a highway with your top down and the sun's out and your hair is blowing. So those are my favorite songs of any summer.

Festival season officially kicks off this weekend with Gov Ball and Primavera Sound, but we’re still thinking about Coachella. Madonna and Sabrina’s joint slay, Justin Bieber’s take on gay guy music video night, and Slayyyter’s star-making turn on the Mojave stage were all highlights, but if we could only relive one set, it would be Katseye’s. Arrival, Coachella’s award-winning docuseries produced in partnership with MGX Creative, returns for a second season on June 2, with the Season 2 premiere following Katseye’s arduous journey to Coachella. In just under 14 minutes, fans will get an inside look into the grueling tech rehearsals that lead to their successful desert debut, and hear all about the experience from the global girl group themselves.

"To do Coachella only two years after we just started, is insane. It’s very wild,” says Daniela Avanzini. “Everything has been coming so fast,” Megan Skiendiel agrees.

Miami Swim Week does it differently than New York or Paris. Wearing less is more, and making a statement is best done waterfront. In fashion, making it to ten years of running a brand is considered a herculean feat in this day and age. If you can barely wrap your head around a decade, try this one out: Loewe is celebrating its 180th year in 2026, which means it predates the telephone. How’s that for longevity?

While the world gears up for the World Cup and the U.S. prepares for the semiquincentennial, Loewe is propelling itself forward into the next 180 years of its very Spanish history. A bit of background for those not in the loop: A small leather workshop opened in Madrid in 1846, keeping ties with the local community via its supple handicraft and desirable travel pieces. In the 20th century, few touched its leather-work prowess, and eventually it brought on ready-to-wear designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Narciso Rodriguez, and Giorgio Armani to expand its offerings. Around 2015, Loewe swelled from an if-you-know-you-know label to a global juggernaut under the vision of Jonathan Anderson, who created the Puzzle bag, put balloons and eggs on shoes, and enraptured the world — while still designing leather-first.

Now, Loewe is led by designers Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez, who have already struck out on their own with a new bag, the Amazona 180, which features heavily in the 180th birthday campaign starring house ambassador Julia Garner, actress Sissy Spacek, and singer Giselle, among other legends like artist Kara Walker and actress Salma Abu Deif. The original Amazona is one of Loewe’s hero bags dating back to 1975, and has been beloved by everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker to Blair Waldorf. McCullough and Hernandez did a creative 180 by taking one of the straps off and opening up the front face of the bag, making a part-tote-part-satchel that now counts Kate Moss as a fan.

For other fans today, the Amazona 180 alongside other hero bags like the puzzle, is reimagined with lions (Loewe is German for lions) emblazoned on the side and finished with a key tag reading “Loewe 1846 Madrid.” The best part about Loewe’s history is that it never dwells there for too long. Sure, there are constant references to the past, but as the second oldest luxury label in the world, wouldn’t you look back a bit too? The key is moving forward with all the past as a touchpoint and not a final destination. Loewe knows the times more than most, and we can’t wait to keep playing catch up with it for the next 180 years.

In the words of Charli xcx, nothing is going to save us — not music, fashion, or film. Or so we thought.

On June 1, the British singer-songwriter announced that her new album, Music, Fashion, Film, arrives on July 24. We had a feeling it was building to this; Charli kicked off the new era with “Rock Music,” followed by the aptly titled “SS26,” in which she sings about music, fashion, and, you guessed it, film. In keeping with the theme, Charli tapped three legends from each of the respective fields for the album cover: Martin Scorsese, Marc Jacobs, and John Cale.

The project is set to have 11 songs.

She teased the album a day earlier on TikTok, in which she not-so-subtly told bandwagoner Brat fans to curb their expectations. “So I made an album, and it’s really different from the last one,” the “360” singer says. “That is a fact. And I love it, and you might not. And that’s cool. But if you do, then that’s cute. But if you don’t, that’s totally OK, because that’s just what it is to have personal preferences.

Based on what we’ve heard so far, we expect to be firmly in the “cute” camp.

It seems like all the girls collectively decided to start incorporating electric guitars in their songs this year, but we’re not complaining. Quite the opposite, actually; anyone who has an issue with Ravyn Lenae’s new musical direction has bad taste, end of discussion.

A completely affecting song that stops you dead in your tracks. Not only is it a well written pop song laden with layers of metaphor, but the mere fact that Kim Petras is giving us such an honest look into her past this deep into her career should be a reminder of her greatness.

“Stop” by Bella Kay

The theme for this week is electric guitars, only this time, Bella Kay is taking the indie-rock sound and flipping it on its head with a flamenco-inspired groove. That, plus her calm, cool, and collected vocal performance makes for a really fun and unexpected listen.

“Deep End” by Julia Wolf

This might just be the softest, most stripped down track we’ve ever heard from Julia Wolf. The acoustic indie-rock sound suits her well, as it allows her striking voice and biting lyrics to cut straight through.

“Attaboy!” by Jae Stephens

Leave it to Jae Stephens to train her man like the most obedient dog on the block. Knowing her, the positive reinforcement was minimal, and she probably had to pull out the shock collar a few times.

“Bug In The Cake” by Violet Grohl

There’s a party at Violet Grohl’s grandma’s house, and you’re invited. Grohl has made her stance on the grunge resurgence very clear, but this song (and her debut album) proves that the Seattle alt-rock sound is encoded in her DNA.

Is Jacob Elordi The Next Bond?

His Bleu de Chanel campaign, The Chase, is an Alfonso Cuaron-directed two-minute thriller that has Elordi fighting against a beautiful woman (tough job, we know) for a grasp of the new Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif. It’s the most action-star role of his career to date, and could be a convincing next step for the James Bond audition process.

Chanel Loves New York

The brand presented its Métiers d’Art show in December of last year in an abandoned subway station, and now the collection is finally making its way into stores. The accompanying campaign shot by Craig McDean is an expression of joy in the city, from the Staten Island Ferry to newsstands to the train.

Chanel also teamed up with Bergdorf Goodman for another train-loving installation in the classic 5th Avenue windows, Bergdorf is giving New Yorkers an exclusive first look at the collection before its global launch (where else?).

And for those who already have their sights set East, worry not: Chanel’s seasonal boutique in the Hamptons is back on Newtown Lane in East Hampton. All the best pieces from Spring/Summer 2026 in addition to the already-almost-sold-out Coco Beach collection will be available for those taking the summer away from the city.

We’re not done yet: Chanel’s annual Tribeca Film Festival programming is around the corner, and they announced their third annual Through Her Lens conversation will feature Academy Award nominee and native New Yorker Teyana Taylor. While we’ve been hedging our bets on who will dominate the charts this summer, Phoebe Bridgers seems to have the fall on lock.

It’s been six (!) years since Bridgers released her sophomore album Punisher, and three years since boygenius, Bridgers’ indie rock outfit with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, dropped The Record, but that’s (hopefully) all about to change. Since May 8, Bridgers has played a number of private, no-phones-allowed, pop-up shows throughout the U.S., performing a mix of old and unreleased music in cities like Savannah, Georgia, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Roswell, New Mexico. The “I Know The End” singer hasn’t publicly confirmed the purpose of these shows — in fact, she hasn’t acknowledged the shows at all given that she’s not active on Instagram — but if we had to guess, she’s probably looking to generate some hype before she inevitably announces a new album.

Since we’re already speculating, we might as well make a wager on when the rest of us who don’t live in Greenville, South Carolina or Mobile, Alabama will get to hear the new music. Here’s what we know: The fonts on the show posters have a very gothic feel to them, and fans have noticed a correlation between the concert locations and extraterrestrial activity. With this minimal amount of evidence, we have deduced that Bridgers is eyeing a fall album release. (Before the stan accounts catch wind of this, we want to make one thing very clear: This is just speculation. But if we’re right, remember where you heard it first.)

Music isn’t the only thing on the horizon for Bridgers this autumn. Later this year, the singer-songwriter will make her feature film acting debut in Lance Oppenheim’s Primetime, a crime drama inspired by the rise of Dateline NBC. She stars in the film alongside Robert Pattinson (who plays famed Dateline host Chris Hansen), Skyler Gisondo, Merritt Wever, and Anna Faris. No word on an official release date yet, but the teaser trailer is out now.

All of this to say, enjoy your summer of a*s shaking in the club, because if Bridgers does drop this year, it’s going to be a very sad girl fall.
