A technical and development team from Tesco\u2019s dairy category received a practical overview of\u00a0 production processes during a bespoke training event at Reaseheath College\u2019s Food Centre.<\/p>\n

The team of five, from Tesco\u2019s head office in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, spent two days at Reaseheath\u2019s Nantwich, Cheshire, campus. As well as receiving theory and hands-on training in the college\u2019s industry standard food processing halls, the employees took the opportunity to hold a team building event in the food department\u2019s dedicated conference facilities.<\/p>\n

The team, made up of Category Technical Manager for Dairy Claire Lindsay, Product Development Manager Amanda Sankey, Cheese Technologist Anne-Sophie Stutzinger,\u00a0 graduate Food Technologist Thea Lawson and Technical Administrator Sue Featley, work closely with suppliers to develop products and check food standards.<\/p>\n

The training event allowed the team to gain knowledge and develop practical production skills and culminated in them manufacturing a batch of yoghurt.<\/p>\n

Said Claire: \u201cReaseheath has a great deal to offer, particularly on the production side. The \u2018hands-on\u2019 training has been very useful for us because we have been able to see the whole process through. This has allowed us to appreciate the bigger picture and will enable us to work more closely with our suppliers and help us solve issues together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reaseheath\u2019s Business Development Manager Katherine Tunnicliffe explained: \u201cThis has been a great chance for us to show Tesco how we can help train their own staff and how this can be rolled out to benefit their supply base.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reaseheath runs specialised and bespoke training days for blue chip companies including Kraft Foods, \u00a0Tetra Pak and Arla Foods. Prospective commercial clients are welcome to make a site visit.<\/p>\n
