{"id":51294,"date":"2015-12-17T10:36:37","date_gmt":"2015-12-17T10:36:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reaseheath.ac.uk\/?p=51294"},"modified":"2015-12-17T10:58:13","modified_gmt":"2015-12-17T10:58:13","slug":"reaseheaths-hoofstock-society-spread-christmas-spirit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reaseheath.ac.uk\/reaseheaths-hoofstock-society-spread-christmas-spirit\/","title":{"rendered":"Reaseheath\u2019s Hoofstock Society spread Christmas spirit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of Reaseheath\u2019s Hoofstock Society spread Christmas spirit by making festive outfits for some of the college\u2019s paddock animals, then taking them for a charity walk round campus.<\/p>\n<p>The students, three ponies and two donkeys visited departments across the college to collect donations for two favourite charities, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Donkey Sanctuary<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.happa.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Horse and Pony Protection Association (HAPPA)<\/a>. The team, who had also made Christmas cookies, raised a total of \u00a384.<\/p>\n<p>Keeper Kerri Robson, who launched the Hoofstock Society, said: \u201cOur walk round college has become a tradition and this year the members have made a big effort to make it bigger and better. It\u2019s a really nice way to spread some cheer and get the animals and students involved\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>We decided to raise money for the Donkey Sanctuary as they need to raise \u00a3600,000 for a new donkey hospital.
