class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Ten of our talented bricklayers, joiners, carpenters and plasterers represented Reaseheath at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citb.co.uk\/careers-in-construction\/experience-it\/skillbuild\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Skillbuild 2017<\/a> regional heat at the South and City College, Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>SkillBuild, organised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citb.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)<\/a>, is the largest multi-trade competition in the UK for construction trainees and apprentices and is open to all relevant colleges and training providers.<\/p>\n<p>Seventeen of these regional competitions took place across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with over 1000 full-time students and apprentices demonstrating their skills across ten trades.<\/p>\n<p>Top scorers were selected to go on to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldskillsuk.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WorldSkills UK<\/a> national finals at The Skills Show, Birmingham, last week.\u00a0 Although none of our students qualified for the national finals, Johnathon Galloway, a Level 1 plasterer, came second in the new entrant category in the regional heat and our other students scored well in the exceptionally high standard competition.<\/p>\n<p>All were superb ambassadors for the college, and thoroughly enjoyed their experience.<\/p>\n<p>The students were:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bricklayers: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(New entrant) Anthony McConnell (Level 1)<\/p>\n<p>(Seniors) Peter Hailwood (Level 3) and Harry Roberts (Level 2 apprentice)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bench joiners:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(New entrant) Harry Hiscoe-James (Level 1)<\/p>\n<p>(Seniors) Rupert Gustave (Level ?) and Callum Bretherton (Level ?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carpenters:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(New entrant) Harry Purslow (Level 1)<\/p>\n<p>(Senior) Sam Ravenscroft (Level 2)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Plasterers: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(New entrant) Johnathon Galloway (Level 1)<\/p>\n<p>(Senior) Ashley Dean-Crowder (Level 2)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reaseheath.ac.uk\/further-education\/courses\/construction\/\">Construction<\/a> staff members Darren Keen, Mark Redmond and Mick Hargreaves supported our students at the
