Students help with on farm coppicing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reaseheath Level 2 arboriculture<\/a> students have been undertaking practical habitat enhancement works at Charity Farm, near Bangor-on-Dee. Students have been practicing their aerial tree climbing skills by coppicing mature Alder trees along the Emral brook. The cutting of selected trees down to ground level increases light levels on to the watercourse improving its value for wildlife by providing a more varied habitat. Farmer Malcolm Adams is delighted with the work undertaken and described the students as a \u2018pleasure to have on his farm<\/em>.\u2019 Bankside stabilisation work has also been undertaken with the brash by staking and weaving smaller branches along the brook in areas where erosion was a concern.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n
