  • This week we are the #RISCVSummitEurope in Bologna 🙋♂️ See what we have to offer in our poster sessions: ➡️ 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱-𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗖-𝗩: 𝗔 𝗖𝗩𝗔𝟲-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗣𝗚𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 (𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵) An end-to-end case study evaluating cloud-connected workloads on CVA6 platforms is presented. System behaviour under increasing telemetry loads is analysed using CAN trace replay. The results provide empirical insights into the suitability of open RISC-V platforms for industrial deployment and highlight further optimisation. ➡️ 𝗖-𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲: 𝗔𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻-𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗖-𝗩 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵) Embedded tracing is essential for validating reliability, optimizing performance, and debugging complex embedded software. Despite rapid innovation in the RISC-V ecosystem, open and interoperable trace solutions have remained limited. C-Trace, developed in the context of the European TRISTAN project, addresses this gap with an open-source trace encoder and an extensible ecosystem approach. C-Trace introduces a modular trace-encoder architecture designed for efficient, continuous “live” observation. Beyond standard program-flow tracing, it supports hardware-assisted instrumentation that can automatically emit trace messages on access to selected control/status registers (CSRs) or on configurable watchpoints. This enables trace streams that carry richer runtime context (e.g., program counter, timestamps, direct data, and selected performance counters) and can support application use cases such as worst-case execution time (WCET) estimation, timing optimization, test-case prioritization, and integration-level coverage measurement. In addition to off-chip export, C-Trace can forward trace-triggered events internally to an on-chip CPU, enabling watchdog, runtime verification, or control-flow integrity (CFI) checking functionality. Finally, C-Trace is provided under a dual-licensing model (CERN-OHL-S and a non-copyleft commercial option) to balance open collaboration with industrial IP needs. ➡️ 𝗣𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗢𝗦 / 𝗘𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗢𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗖-𝗩 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗗𝗘 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 (𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟭𝘁𝗵, 𝟭𝟲:𝟯𝟬-𝟭𝟴:𝟬𝟬) 👉 Register here: https://lnkd.in/eE5gaWC6 #riscv #riscveverywhere

Thank you to Simon Barker, Neil Walker and their wider team for an amazing 2 day event at Heathrow. Carsten Beck and I really enjoyed connecting with friends, future collaborators, partners and innovators (I'll let you decide which describes you best) and talk about the shared challenges of AI and Multi-core certification we all face. I took a picture of our stand 'before', I think this was the only time we weren't talking, talking about the demo or attending presentations! To those of you we didn't manage to talk to - sorry!

From Tuesday, 26, to Thursday, 28, I represented SYSGO – Embedding Innovations at the LoLiPoP-IoT (https://lnkd.in/evCrR7rR) dissemination event (https://lnkd.in/dnSg_-qh), during EnerHarv 2026 (https://www.enerharv.com/) in Madrid, Spain. #LoLiPoPIoT #EnerHarv2026 #Madrid LoLiPoP‑IoT is a state‑of‑the‑art project in energy harvesting. SYSGO – Embedding Innovations contributed to two use cases with a smart, secure gateway running with its flagship products PikeOS (https://lnkd.in/dGBb9XdZ), and ELinOS (https://lnkd.in/dZzW2_3w), where partners deploy applications and collect data over multiple protocols such as MiOTY, BLE, and others. #EnergyHarvesting #PikeOS #ELinOS #mioty The video of Use Case 7 (https://lnkd.in/ds2amh-a) shows an in‑vitro simulation of an industrial silo being monitored for grain‑combustion risk and abnormal conditions. In the demo, we heat a glass pot filled with rice and inject CO₂ to emulate a risk scenario. The system’s response is captured in real time over the GUI. The bottom picture below shows the moment when the CO2 spike increases the danger zone/risk in the gauge. #IoT #EdgeComputing #IndustrialMonitoring One interesting open topic, both academically and industrially, is predicting grain‑combustion risk ahead of time. A confined edge‑AI model could watch the sensor patterns, compare internal and ambient signals, and forecast when the silo is drifting into the danger zone. If this is an area you’re exploring or want to collaborate on, feel free to reach out. #EdgeAI #PredictiveMaintenance #Research #Industry40 #SYSGO #LoLiPoPIoT #EnerHarv2026 #EnergyHarvesting #IoT #EdgeAI #PikeOS #ELinOS #mioty #BLE #SmartIndustry #PredictiveMaintenance #IndustrialIoT #Research #Innovation
