Biography

Ruby studied sculpture, worked at the BBC and took a foray into printmaking before embarking on a career in picture books. Her first two Author/Illustrator books were published by Rocket Bird Books and she has since worked with Flying Eye, Dorling Kindersley, Design for Today and Andersen Press. Her work has been shortlisted twice for the Shirley Hughes Sketchbook Award, nominated for the Klaus Flugge Prize and shortlisted for the Indie Book Awards, Alligator’s Mouth award and Stockport Children’s Book Award. She regularly delivers school and literature festival talks and mentors early-career illustrators.
