We have written to Julia Hartley-Brewer withdrawing her invite to speak at RCGPAC. It has become clear that some of the views she has expressed are too much at odds w the core values of RCGP & our members, and our work to promote inclusivity w/in the profession & among patients

We are deeply concerned about Dr Arora’s case. Whilst we welcome the decision by @gmcuk to review the ruling, we will be asking for answers as to why the case was allowed to get through their screening processes and end in a Fitness to Practise Hearing and receiving a sanction.

Our new College guidance for GP practices employing Physician Associates is now available. This does not change our policy position that we oppose a role for PAs within general practice. However, we recognise that many practices already employ PAs and our guidance aims to give

"GPs working ‘part-time’ are in fact working more than full-time, with reams of paperwork to complete when they are not seeing patients". Read @MartinRCGP's letter in today’s @thetimes refuting yesterday's article about part-time working in general practice.

We are pleased to see @wesstreeting back our calls to review ARRS funding to free up practices to recruit more GPs. Patients are crying out for appointments, whilst newly qualified GPs are unable to find work. This nonsensical situation can't go on. rcgp.org.uk/News/college-w…
