    Landed in Mumbai in T2 & took the Aqua line all the way to Churchgate. Uber showed an eye-popping Rs 1,100 fare! Metro carried me for Rs 70 in AC comfort. That too with my Pune metro NCMC card. India works, sometimes! Beautifully.

    My Sri Lanka Trip in brief. Cost was ₹1.5 lakh for 11 days. Some of it in luxurious hotels, half the price of Indian ones. Some of it in Airbnbs. Took trains & buses, where possible More than the money, look at the beauty of the island in the thread livemint.com/money/personal…

    Mumbai Uber cab driver told me his life's economics today 1) About 10 trips a day 2) 3-3.5k gross 3) 30% Uber cut, 2-2.5k net. 4) 500 fuel, 500 as rent 5) 1-1.5k as net income per day 6) Works for Everest which owns 18k cabs. 7) Everest pays for repairs 8) Wants own cab

    EPFO meeting yesterday has announced some alarming provisions: 1) Full withdrawal in case of unemployment will happen after 12 months vs 2 months currently 2) Full withdrawal of pension after 36 months rather than 2 months currently 3) 25% of your EPF, kept in EPF always!

    Hotels in Colombo are cheap for Indians. Probably due to the Sri Lankan rupee depreciation against our rupee & my off peak travel timing. I booked this one (Granbell) for INR 6.8k per night. It was absolutely worth it. A 5-star in Mumbai will normally cost > 12k with tax
