It’s #TakeFiveWeek26! This year we’re tapping into something many of us already love: crime fiction. This trains us to spot patterns, question what we’re told, and look for the hidden detail. Can you spot the clues in the video? #StopChallengeProtect

Are those new bank details genuine? 🤔 It’s nearly tax year-end and criminals might use this to rush you into paying a fake invoice. They might send you genuine looking invoice but change bank account details. #TakeFive to speak to the supplier directly before you pay.

Criminals will try to impersonate your bank 🚩 They might call you out of the blue, saying your bank account is at risk and you need to move your money to a ‘safe account’. Hang up and call your bank back on a number you know is correct 📞 #TakeFive

Swipe right on safety – not scammers. 🔐🚫📱 Romance scams are more common than you think and criminals spend hours researching you for their scams – hoping you'll let your guard down for just a moment. This #WorldRomanceScamPreventionDay we're encouraging everyone to: STOP:

Are you thinking about investing? Always remember: - Never invest if someone is putting pressure on you. - Avoid clicking on social media links or links through unsolicited emails. - If you’re offered high returns with little risk, this could be a scam. #Investmentscams

Have you seen a deal online that looks too good to be true? Purchase scams are when a criminal creates fake adverts online to encourage you to buy goods that don’t actually exist. They continue to be the most common type of APP scam in the UK. Always stop and think.

Have you been asked to pay an upfront fee for a package? Amidst all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday purchases, criminals might try to take advantage and ask for an upfront fee for delivery. Always stop and think.

Meeting someone online can be exciting, but not everyone is who they claim to be. 🚨 Red flags to watch for: 💔 Asking for money or gifts. 💔 Claims of being “in love” too soon. 💔 Sudden emergencies requiring financial help. Never send money to someone you’ve only met online.

An invoice scam is when a criminal impersonates a trusted supplier by providing you with new or amended bank details. Always confirm bank details with your service provider before any payment is made. Always question why their payment method has changed. #Invoicescams
