    Bigggggg PSA: If your loans have been paused since March 2020 but you made payments, you can request a FULL refund! This includes ppl who just learned they will get their loans cancelled (via @POTUS’ cancellation, PSLF, PSLF waiver, or IDR waiver).
    You can get a refund for any federal student loan payments since March 2020! Anyone with Department of Education owned federal student loans can request a refund of all amounts paid after March 13, 2020 through the end of the payment pause. This applies to a LOT of borrowers—INCLUDING the million+ who completely paid off their loans during the payment pause. 1. Call your servicer. Call your servicer and request a refund, they will not accept a written request (takes ~5 minutes once they're on the phone). 2. Say the following: "I would like a refund for the payments I made during the payment pause." You should get your refund back within 6-12 weeks! **IMPORTANT: Make sure you apply for a refund BEFORE applying for cancellation.

    More than 8 million borrowers are in default. In many states, this can mean their professional license gets revoked (and job lost). It's hard to pay your #studentloan debt when you're barred from working. @AyannaPressley & @chopraftc make clear that it shouldn't be this way.
