No Iron Dome, No Exceptions: On AOC and Anti-Zionism
Solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for liberation is at the heart of our socialist movement. To reflect our core anti-Zionist values, DSA has adopted the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) …

108 years ago the Russian Revolution overthrew a capitalist imperialist regime and began to build a new type of society led by a proletarian revolutionary party. We specifically uplift the role that women and oppressed peoples around the world played in building that revolution🌸
Image of Lenin in front of a crowd. Text reads: 108 years ago yesterday, the Russian Revolution overthrew a capitalist, imperialist regime and began to build a new type of society, led by a proletarian revolutionary party. That experiment in socialism lasted until it was toppled by a coup led by reactionary anti-democratic powers in 1991, but its influence and importance extends far beyond the borders of the USSR and continues to this day. We look upon this day fondly, and specifically uplift the role that women and oppressed peoples around the world played in building the revolution.
Picture of Nadezhda Krupskaya and Alexandra Kollantai. Text reads: We look towards the women who kicked off the February revolution by exiting factories and marching on the streets of Petrograd to demand peace and bread, and those who fought for women’s political rights in the Russian empire, a struggle which grew into a call for socialist emancipation. We draw inspiration from the organizations that women developed to bring about revolutionary consciousness, including adult literacy courses for workers and youth organizations such as Light and Knowledge.

We honor the women who became leaders in the new Soviet government, such as Nadezhda Krupskaya, who became the deputy minister of adult education, revolutionizing education within the Soviet Union; and the women who demanded women’s liberation at every step of the Revolution, like Alexandra Kollantai.
Image of the Baku congress. Text reads: The Russian Revolution was also bolstered by the oppressed nations of the world, who not only supported the revolutionary government, but expanded its scope to include supporting liberation movements in the Global South. We look to how Asian and European nations colonized by the Russian Empire stood up to Tsarist rule during the revolutionary period, such as the All-Russian Muslim Congress, which grew into calls for national liberation in Central Asia.

These struggles were supported during the USSR’s existence via the anti-colonial struggles of oppressed peoples throughout the world. These pushed the USSR to build up its international organizing efforts, such as with the USSR’s support for the Vietnamese during the U.S.’s invasion of the country, and to center the Global South in the Third International.
Emerge logo and text: Without the revolutionary struggle waged by oppressed nations and organized women, the Bolshevik Revolution could never have succeeded. We must heed these lessons, building up the internationalist-feminist struggle as we seed the ground for our world’s revolutionary future.

Our support for Palestinian liberation struggles and the BDS movement must be unwavering. DSA must be a principled force for it and not let proximity to power influence this commitment, nor any other. We urge the NPC to reverse their decision and reinstate the BDS WG and its SC.

In publicly defending funding of the Iron Dome, AOC has failed to uphold the anti-Zionist principles of DSA. US military funding is essential to Israel's ability to carry out genocide on Palestinians with impunity. We commend Rashida Tlaib for her commitment to opposing it.🌸

DSA Emerge condemns bad-faith attacks against Sunday's Palestine rally which aim to undermine calls for justice. We stand in solidarity with Palestinians struggling for liberation and allied orgs fighting against US-backing of military occupation, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing.

To be clear we love our Maoist comrades but we're a big tent communist caucus. Anyone uplifting anti-imperialism, abolition and community base-building fits in. We have Third Worldists, Pan-Africanists, Marxists-Leninists, anarcho-communists, autonomists and ya even one Maoist 🌸

The National Electoral Commission resolution passed by over 90% hours before the anti-Zionist amendment was defeated, by the same people. Some of us favor alternative electoral strategies or prioritize other work, but the DSA left is not “actively uninterested” in electoral

Just an outside perspective but I don’t see how the DSA is supposed to survive in its current form when the views on what it’s supposed to be for are so apart. If one side is oriented around running candidates and another is actively uninterested in that idk how you reconcile.
