Today, two years ago, my father @HansRosling died. I have missed him 24 7. But I have been comforted by the global appreciation of #factfulness. Hans would have been very proud and happy if he knew how popular it became. Thank you everyone who help spread a fact-based worldview!

3 years ago @HansRosling died. At least ones a week I dream he is back. In my dreams it was a misunderstanding and we laugh at it and keep working. In reality, we keep working. Me & ♥️@AnnaGapminder, & @Gapminder soon launching a new tool for @factfulness in practice. Stay tuned!

99.99% of life in Stockholm is just same as usual. People comfort each other while walking home in a beautiful spring sunset.

This looks bad: 3 weeks after cases started increasing in NYC, the death increase is not far below previous waves, unfortunately indicating that Omicron’s fatality rate is maybe NOT drastically lower than Delta’s, which we all had wished for. nytimes.com/interactive/20…

This may be the most important page on the Internet: The list of climate tipping-elements: pik-potsdam.de/services/infod… …. But in it's current form it wont get the attention of regular people! @PaulHBeckwith and @jrockstrom where is the effective educational video explaining it all?

Mathematicians who are pretending their complex corona simulations are anything but hypothetical, are gambling with the public's general trust in science. Metrologist's have gained public trust by NEVER pretending they can predict the weather more than a few days.

My father @HansRosling explained exponential growth like this. Omicron is of course different from Ebola in lots of ways, but the curve of infections follows the same logic which everyone should be familiar with by now: youtube.com/watch?v=sYVUs2…

Up we go! @SwedishPM simply lets Omicron increase, hoping it’ll be safe. But nobody knows the fatality rate! Nobody knows how much Long-COVID it will cause! As long as the “evidence” isn’t certain our society fails to make a decision. As if that wasn’t a decision: To NOT decide.

I claim Sweden should pioneer data literacy in public curriculum to hinder #factresistance (which is an old thing!) expressen.se/debatt/ola-ros…

Imagine a wildfire being dealt with like authorities deal with Omicron: “We don’t know how much damage it will cause, so we’ll wait and see.”

My New Year’s Bet: in 3 weeks time — current steep increase of infections has become increasing death tolls; — 🇸🇪 gov restricts visits to seniors; — Omicron is already inside care homes; — and we all ask @SwedishPM, are you incapable of learning what slow response leads to?

A fact-based worldview requires a new curriculum. Not media's blame-game of buzzword cascades;"Post truth, Fake news, Allternative facts..."

Kids today are losing hope for the future. My dad @HansRosling often said: "It's never too late to give up. So, we don't have to do that now." Watch @_HannahRitchie explain how we can become: the First Sustainable Generation!

My @TEDTalks is now online. I argue that we have the opportunity to build a world where we can all live well, and tackle our environmental problems at the same time. This is possible, but not inevitable. We have to push to make that a reality. ted.com/talks/hannah_r…

Are we the last generation — or the first sustainable one?
