Erawan national park in Kanchanaburi, Thailand takes a deposit of ~Rs 50 for each plastic bottle that you carry with you inside the park, which is fully refunded only if you show the bottles on your return. Effective practice India must also adopt, wherever possible

Most waste material dumped in natural places is actually food packaging material. At least big eating outlets should start writing contact number of customers on packages. So when they forget to clear their mess they could be contacted easily. What say ??

Demands started at Rs 5 crore and today we settled at 0! Even in her supreme court application, she demanded Rs 1.5 cr. Mind you, this is unprecedented. We fought with all our might cuz we were clear to not pay anything after what she & her parents put us through. Most cave in.

Why am I sharing this? Mental toll aside, fighting for justice in India is prohibitively expensive. We could fight cuz we had the means but the costs have set us back massively. A big chunk of dad's retirement money is gone, brother suffered major losses in business.

Imagine you wake up one day to find that your bank has increased your loan term to 55 years! Many home loan borrowers who took loans at cheap rates of ~6.5% during 2021-22 are seeing this play out for them - pay EMIs till 80-85 years of age.

Yes, we'll earn the money back and r glad that it's over, but not every1's as fortunate. I've heard stories where people gave up all their assets to settle the case. Many innocent people are in jail cuz they can't afford a good lawyer. It's a financial emergency noone prepares...

When travelling abroad, if you're asked to pay b/w Rs and local currency, ALWAYS choose local currency. This option is given on POS terminals and during ATM withdrawal and selecting Rs can cost you 4-10% extra. 👇POS image on the right shows the 7% markup @FinPaal had to pay
