This is what VAR is for.
The foul is on the 18-yard line, therefore in the penalty area, therefore it is a penalty.
The officials had a fairly decent game until this point but it is a clear and obvious error that went unnoticed.

- The penalty at end of @kilmarnock v @CelticFC was NEVER a penalty kick. The ball deflected off a defender to hit the player. Where was he meant to be? We must be in for a lot of penalties this year if that’s given. John Beaton should’ve been stronger & not accepted that VAR🗣️ “Iheanacho stepped forward to have the last word!” A last-gasp penalty on his debut secures the three points for Celtic ⤵️
00:00 - In our opinion, that’s a penalty. It doesn’t matter that the defender got the ball first, a foul is a foul. Stomping full on someone’s foot is not a “football motion”. We have seen similar this season being given; if it happens in midfield it is certainly a foul. Opinions welcome
- Nick Walsh has been named referee of the second leg of the Ross County vs Livingston game on Monday. In what world has he earned that, making two massive errors in his last two games. It’s ridiculous how this has been decided, he has done nothing to warrant such a massive game.
- It should be a penalty, Dessers shirt is ripped from him
- Replying to @EwenDCameron and @bigfootballscotNo words I’m afraid. Cannot believe anybody watching that repeatedly could decide it was violent conduct
- The VAR team are very articulate here, the referee doesn’t get out of his own way and Walsh comes across horrendous with this audio.
00:00 - We were sent this clip. That is a clear penalty. At the very least it should have been reviewed @des_roache @SMMediaEnt @ACSOMPOD @EwenDCameronReplying to @TheRefsView @des_roache and 2 othersThoughts on this one?
00:00 - We feel this is a penaltyThoughts lads? @TheRefsView
00:00 - We will do a full review of Willievision on our podcast next week but this can’t wait. “Completely accidental” is fairly obvious but it should have no relevance on this decision, the VAR audio for this is amongst the worst we have heard. It sounds like it is, shambolic.🗣️"Completely accidental..." Should Shankland's goal vs Rangers have stood? Watch 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗩𝗔𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 on Sky Sports Football from 6pm 📺
00:00 - Why is Ralston not being sent off?
- Celtic were the better team and deserved to win. If Willie Collum was judged the way a football manager was, he would be relieved of his duties. This has been a game filled with inconsistency, uncertainty and no control by a referee he has backed to the hill.
- Have the SFA ever come out with a post match comment so quickly before? Totally negates any Rangers appeal as they’ve given their verdict already
