We need to stop treating God like He’s our personal "good luck charm" 🛑

I read 1 Samuel 4 today, and it’s a massive wake-up call for modern Christianity. Israel was losing a war, so they decided to march the Ark of the Covenant onto the battlefield. They didn't repent. They didn't ask God what He wanted. They just treated the holiest object on earth like a magic rabbit's foot, assuming God would be forced to give them victory if they paraded His box around. Instead, God let 30,000 of them die, and He let the Philistines capture the Ark. It hit me hard. How often do we do this? We live however we want, but then we throw Jesus' name on our businesses, our politics, or our problems, expecting Him to bless our mess like He's a cosmic vending machine. God is sovereign. He will not be manipulated into endorsing our agendas. #HardTruth #SovereignGod #ChristianLiving #NoIdols #WakeUpChurch

II Corinthians 12:9 Three times he called upon the Lord, begging that the thorn in his flesh be taken from him. But God said to Paul, ‘My Grace is sufficient, My strength and power are made perfect in your weakness’. Paul, His bondservant, the one who saw the ‘Light’ on the road to Damascus, the one who was persecuted by men and would be martyred for his faith…this Paul didn’t receive the healing he prayed for. Paul came to understand there was purpose in his suffering and affliction. He came to know by experience that God’s strength and power are perfected, completed, showing themselves most effective, in man’s weakness. That’s definitely not an accepted belief from the world’s point of view. Only a believer, completely surrendered to God, will accept, in all humility, God’s will, even when it hurts. Do we pray for what we want or do we pray for God‘s will? Do we pray for things like money and success? Or do we pray for things like strength, courage, wisdom, boldness…for godly character? Do we pray for healing… and accept His answer, even if it’s not the one we’re looking for? Even if…Do we still praise Him…giving Him honor and glory, acknowledging His Dominion and power overall things? Paul continued to pursue the ministry God entrusted him with. He pursued it in strength and power not his own, but God’s. He didn’t get angry at being told ‘No’ and walk away, defeated. He found glory in his weakness, and strength and power with Jesus living in him. What a powerful testimony, witness he lived. What about us? Lord, may our surrender, be complete, knowing in our weakness, Your Strength is made perfect…even in us.

A Prayer to Free You from the Spirits of Anger and Resentment. Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You seeking liberation from the burdens of anger, hatred, pride, and resentment that weigh heavily on my heart. I ask for Your guidance to release these negative emotions that hinder my ability to fully experience Your True Love. I acknowledge my feelings of frustration and surrender my struggles and the people involved to You, laying my anger at the foot of Your cross and renouncing all spirits of anger, pride, and revenge in Your Name. In times of distress, I seek relief from the anger and resentment that hold me captive. Grant me the strength to let go of these feelings, allowing peace and forgiveness to fill the emptiness within me. May I find the courage to heal and embrace compassion, breaking free from the chains of past traumas. Cleanse my soul with Your Most Precious Blood, freeing me from any desire for retaliation. In Your Name, I reject all thoughts that separate me from You, and I embrace Your love, finding comfort in the Father’s embrace and the peace of the Holy Spirit. Heal me from the inside out Jesus, and let me find refuge in You. In Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

Some people are not suicidal because they want to die. Sometimes they are exhausted from carrying pain that feels impossible to explain. Sometimes they are overwhelmed by loss, trauma, loneliness, financial struggles, mental illness, or life circumstances that seem never-ending. A recent report highlighted by CNN found that nearly 1.2 billion people worldwide were living with mental disorders in 2023, a number that has almost doubled since 1990. Anxiety and depression were among the most common conditions affecting people globally. Behind many smiles are silent battles. Behind many "I'm okay" responses are struggles that nobody sees. And behind many suicidal thoughts is often not a desire to die, but a desire for the pain to stop. Mental health challenges are more common than many people realize, and they can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, profession, faith, or social status. Let us choose compassion over judgment. Let us listen more. Let us check in on one another. Let us create spaces where people feel safe enough to ask for help. You never truly know what someone may be carrying. 💛 Hope matters. 💛 Support matters. 💛 Your life matters. #EndTheStigma #itsokaytonotbeokay #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth
