大家好!

I was thinking about what I should talk about this week. This week was transfer week, and out of the six elders in our apartment, only Elder Soeung is moving. He is the only Cambodian missionary in the Hong Kong Mission and is so awesome, I hope to get to serve around him soon. As for the week, it was not as crazy as some of the ones prior because we narrowed down our teaching pool to prioritize those who are truly making progress. As a result we were able to protect some time to prostylte and find new friends :)

Because of this we had a fantastic opportunity on Tuesday to be able go out to the area of Pat Heung, which is all the way deep into the nether parts of our area; a good 45 minutes away from the middle of where we serve. This day was full of miracles. Story time!

Firstly, we met a random guy on the street that had been to our church nearly ten years ago attending our English class, and we scheduled him to come back! Almost five minutes later, we ran into a guy on the street who ended up being one of our contacts we hadn't ever been able to see in person! We didn't even know what he looked like so it was a surprise to us when we started talking to him. Later in the find we went to a nearby park where we met such a kind lady named Ms. Chan who was immediately so kind and was so impressed by the happiness we had when talking to her. Upon further talking with her, we learned of her deep deep love of family and her understanding of the important role of parents, especially raising her daughters as a single mom and now living happily as a grandmother. We were able to share the Family Proclamation with her and it was such a special and pure conversation that I was so privileged to share.

We had a bunch of other small miracles occur, such as convincing a man weve seen multiple times before to finally take a Book of Mormon, as well as being able to visit Gabriel, one of our recent converts who lives close by who just so happened to be in the area!

In all of this, the highlight of the day definitely came from a surprise visit from Connie, the Relief Society President, who all of a sudden greeted us as we were having studies outside. In a crazy coincidence, they lived just a five minute walk away... And it was also Jacob, her youngest son's birthday!! He was turning 12, which means he would be joining Young Men's. Out of all of the days we decided to go to Pat Heung, we had scheduled it on such a special occasion, with such a miraculous coincidence that she was able to spot us.

The special thing about this miracle is that this family is a single mom family with two boys. I am not sure about their situation, but it has not been easy for them. Jacob, the youngest son, has always been a troublemaker and it is hard for him to always be cared for. However since I have come to Yuen Long, I have had so so much fun playing with him and giving him the care I believe he needed. When he heard that we were in the area, he wanted nothing but to have dinner with us. Because us Elders aren't allowed to visit without another male over 18 present, it broke my heart to hear when Connie was so apologetic about not being able to invite us over.

After a quick appointment with our friend, we made our way to their house to drop off a quick birthday present; some candy. When we got there, the whole family was there waiting and watching for us and I cannot express in words the love I felt for such a precious family who is so so strong.

Mosiah 2:41 reads "And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."

This family is such a beautiful example of the blessed and happy state that this verse describes. As they have come to church every week without fail, the love they have for each other and the devotion they have in the gospel is something that I will never forget.

I look forward to having so many more of these experiences in this mission. I am so grateful for the testimonies of these members and am so privileged to see more of the blessings in Yuen Long these next couple weeks.

My grandmother will be going through surgery on Thursday. She is not a member but she came to church with my mother this past Sunday in faith and love for us. I ask you all to pray for her.

Thank you all so so much for all of your support. I will write again next week!!

See you all next week!
