In May of 2009, a dear friend of mine gifted me this bracelet, when we were on a mini trip with her family in New York.
She said, “Wear this, and when you’re a mama, pass it on to someone else who is trying to have children…” That was the jest of it.
So I did. I wore it all the time. A visual reminder to me of the miracle her family experienced and the miracle our family hoped for. Her story of the bracelet:
Someone gave it to me when we got on the waiting list to adopt, the thought being, “You’re expecting. Even if you don’t have a belly, you’re expecting.”
The bracelet is to remind you that so long as you’re trying, you’re expecting just as much as someone out there, who is pregnant. You’re just expecting a miracle instead right then.
So, you have a bracelet instead of a belly. 🙂
