Upon taking out the recycling, I stumbled across a paper plate filled with cookies at our front door.
I initially thought, “Did I not hear a knock on the door? Which of my friends stopped by? YUM COOKIES!”

I admit, I have talked to MAYBE 2 of my neighbors in my apartment complex in the past year!
(There are over 33 units just in my building alone.)
How lovely and sweet of them.
I don’t even know who they are or what they look like. For all I know I may have seen them before, not realizing they live above us.
(You know I am going to FACEBOOK her name and see if I can find her!)
Then I felt A LOT of guilt for not reaching out to more of my neighbors.
My immediate thought was, “I should have them down for dinner!!”
Sometimes I just need a kick in the pants.
Gretchen has an amazing voice. I often hear her singing praises through the ceiling. She may be embarrassed if she ever found out that we can hear her.
And then I thought, “Oh goodness, I wonder if our screaming child has ever disrupted them? Maybe they brought the cookies because they now know we have a baby?!”
Either way, the cookies are delicious and Rick will be lucky if there are any left when he gets home tomorrow morning.
Yes, I will invite them for dinner.
