Devil’s Lake State Park

My good friend Jenn called me up this morning and invited Bridgette and I to Devil’s Lake State Park.

I had heard great things about this lake and so I quickly packed our bags.

We were out the door and on our way within 45 minutes.

Bridgette’s swimsuit is for babies 12.5lbs to 17.5lbs…I really had to pull hard to get it on.

Little Bridgette almost needs a bra.

Being at the lake reminded me of being in the Uinta Mountains in Utah.

The water was incredibly warm.

Here’s proof we don’t get out enough:

Bridgette squints hard when the sun shines on her face. She’s not used it.

Which is probably a good thing.

Her skin in so pale…she’ll be spending the rest of her beach days in the shade, just like her papa.

It was a gorgeous day. Could not have been better!Image

Bridgette’s little friend, Eleanor.

She holds a special place in my heart, for I was there the day she was born.Image

This little Eleanor is 68 days older than Bridgette. Image

Isn’t she just a doll!?ImageThank you Jenn, for getting me out of the house. We enjoyed the outing!

We’re lucky and blessed to have family within a 2 hour drive from us.

We are happy that Bridgette lives close enough to some of her cousins while we’re here in Wisconsin.Image

They adore her and we adore them!

We picked up from where we left off on our Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway tour around Minneapolis.

We stopped at Lake Harriet and walked around a bit.

The shores of the lakes were dotted with sunbathers and swimmers.ImageImageImageMy favorite part of the Grand Rounds  National Scenic Byway was the chain of lakes district.  The real estate that faces these lakes is incredible. It can’t hurt to dream build, can it?

I could totally envision Rick setting up shop in Minneapolis and living on lake front property in a modest home with character and sending the children out the door to go swim in the lake.

It got my blood racing!

I’ll post images of the homes next time.

Mall Of America

Rick had a week off before he starts life as a second year resident.

I can’t believe how fast this past year flew by.

(Which is surprising, considering I spent so much of my time in my house, day in and day out, surviving pregnancy.)

Anyway.

We headed to Minneapolis MinneSOOHta!
