We’ve done some fun things over past 5 years to celebrate our Anniversaries:

1st Ogunquit Maine, USA

2nd Quebec City QB, Canada

3rd Pregnant with Baby (and probably puking)

4th Dinner at Quivey’s Grove  in Madison WI

But on September 20th, I prepared a meal for Rick and we dined in.  It was perfect!

My goal was to use a lot of our food from our CSA: Leeks, potatoes, bell peppers, tomatoes, salad greens, etc.

Our menu consisted of: salad, loaf of fresh bread, leek and potato tart with corn meal pastry crust, and a pumpkin soup with rosemary.

I love that he brought me a dozen red roses!

And, I don’t know what got into me, but I bought all this junk for Rick and glued paper all over it. Recently Updated114

We walked State Street in downtown Madison and each ate 2 scoops of Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, in a cup, with a sugar cone on top. MMM!

I can’t believe it’s been 5 years. Today I can say I am very happily married to my best friend. He has been my rock, my joy and my heroin. I adore him in so many ways and it’s been an amazing journey together. After I gave birth to Bridgette, my love for Rick changed and brought on a whole new meaning, as I watched him care for her, love her, teach her and sing to her. He has exceeded any and all expectations I ever had in a husband and has sacrificed so much during his medical school and resident training for our family. We of course wish he was around more, and that his hours were not so long, but we love it when he’s home! Bridgette doesn’t stop saying his name. She adores him so much too!

Here’s to another 5 years of bliss!

I over heard a passerby say, “That girl’s on a MISSION!”

Morning walk with puppy & puppyRecently Updated111Just like her father, she is a HUGE fan of dogs, both stuffed and real. She has no fear of any dog or any size. Big dogs approach her and she enthusiastically signs “dog” and reaches out for them.

They start licking her face, and she giggles and keeps trying to pet them. I love how brave she is!

Helping Dreams Come True!

My Dear Readers:

Have you ever had a dream to write a novel, start a bakery of your favorite confections, launch a fashion line, or travel with your band to tour the USA? Maybe you have other dreams to go to outer space or illustrate a children’s novel. Big or small, we all have dreams.

I am so thrilled to share with you the dream of someone I love!

Many of you are familiar with my sister, Morgan Moore. She is the great and talented mind behind the blog One More Moore. Her blog is filled with tutorials, holiday crafting ideas, sewing projects and cooking demonstrations.

Now, speaking of cooking, she has a dream: To have her own web-based craft and cooking show!  (To be filmed in the beautiful New England.) She has teamed up with KickStarter to help her dream become a reality!  What is Kickstarter? I’m glad you asked!

Kickstarter is a new way to fund creative projects.

We believe that:

• A good idea, communicated well, can spread fast and wide.

• A large group of people can be a tremendous source of money and encouragement.

Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.

This is where you, my generous readers, get a chance to be a vital player in making this dream a reality!  Please click this LINK to watch a video of Morgan describe her goal for this web-based project! (And if you get warm fuzzies, like I did, act on it and donate!) She has until October 5th to raise $30,000.

Due to wonderful and supportive friends, family, blog readers and others,  $5,671 has been raised in 5 days! How exciting is that!? She is offering great rewards when you pledge!  This web-based show will be available to everyone!  The only way this project will come to life is with your love, support and donations. I encourage you to pledge now! No donation is too small. Every bit matters and counts. Now is the time to bring Morgan’s “Delicious Delights to the Web!”

We’re rooting for you Morgan! We believe dreams can come true!
