Cogito NTNU

A student organization specialized in teaching and learning AI together

Cogito NTNU

About Us

Cogito NTNU is Norway's largest technical AI student organization, comprising around 70 active members. Every semester, we open up new projects that anyone can join to gain hands-on experience alongside their studies. Our aim is to foster an inclusive environment where both beginners and experienced individuals can learn AI together!

Formed by students from various technical disciplines at NTNU Trondheim, our mission is to educate and inspire Norway's next generation of AI engineers.

Projects

We have a wide range of projects that cater to different interests and skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced AI enthusiast, there’s something for everyone.

Our Courses

We regularly organize workshops and short courses to help both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts dive deeper into AI. Below is a selection of what we’ve offered:

Courses we have held

Get comfortable programming with LLMs through practical exercises and interactive demos.

An introduction to building LLM-powered applications using the LangGraph library, focusing on agent-based approaches.

A concise workshop on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and how to effectively evaluate Large Language Models. Using the RAGAS framework, you will learn how to optimize hyperparameters using Optuna and evaluate the performance of LLMs.

Discover how to enable large language models to interact with the web and automate tasks using your browser.

Explore the basics of reinforcement learning through interactive tasks and advanced strategy examples.

Learn the fundamentals of genetic algorithms and explore how neural topologies can evolve over time.

A hands-on beginner-friendly course on neural network basics in pytorch, ideal for those new to deep learning.

A thorough introduction to ML essentials using the Titanic dataset as a case study, perfect for foundational skills.

This course is structured to provide a step-by-step introduction to the core concepts of deep learning, focusing on CNNs and their implementation in PyTorch. You will gain hands-on experience working with datasets, implementing CNN architectures, and training deep learning models efficiently.

All course materials are open-source and free to explore. Whether you’re new to AI or looking to deepen your expertise, these resources are designed to help you build practical skills in a supportive environment. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out or open an issue in the respective GitHub repositories.
