Edit posts with the AI assistant

The AI assistant four-pointed star icon.

This section applies to sites created with the AI Website Builder (all paid plans) or sites that have enabled the AI assistant (Business and Commerce plans). Open the AI assistant by clicking the AI icon (a four-pointed star) at the bottom of the screen.

The AI assistant on WordPress.com can help throughout your entire blogging process. Here are some sample prompts you can copy and use to edit posts:

  • “Update my post ‘How to Start a Garden’ with this new section at the end and then re‑publish it.”
  • “Shorten this section while keeping the main points.”
  • “Fix any typos in the post ‘April Highlights’ and then republish it.”

Edit posts with AI agents

You can use AI agents like Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and more to read and edit your website securely. Enable MCP tool access for AI agents.

AI agents can edit post content and titles across your site, identified by URL or title. Try a prompt such as “add a new line at the end of [POST URL] inviting people to comment” or “change the title of my most recent post to…” Your AI agent will make the update directly on your site.
