AFFiNE is the open-source, local-first knowledge workspace that combines documents, whiteboards, and AI in one canvas. AFFiNE Cloud is hosted by our team. Licensing varies by release and component. (Not to be confused with affine geometry in mathematics.)
Yes. AFFiNE Cloud Free includes unlimited local workspaces, 10 GB of Cloud Storage, real-time collaboration with up to 3 members per workspace, and 7 days of version history. There is no time limit on the Free plan. For self-hosting, review the license terms for your exact release and components.
AFFiNE Cloud runs on our infrastructure with no setup. Storage, seats, and version-history limits depend on your plan (Free, Pro, or Team). Self-Hosted runs the full stack on your own servers. Licensing depends on the release and components. You operate the servers and manage data stored there; external AI and other connected services process data separately under their own terms. Capacity depends on your infrastructure and selected services. The Self-Hosted Team tier ($10/seat/month, billed annually) adds priority support, multi-admin roles, and scaling for 10+ seats.
Yes. AFFiNE's editor is MIT-licensed; AFFiNE is local-first by design and free for personal use. As an open-source Notion alternative, your workspace data lives on your device with optional cloud sync. For self-hosting, review the license terms for your exact release and components.
Local side: unlimited local workspaces, unlimited customization, unlimited Doc and Edgeless editing. Cloud Basic side: 10 GB of Cloud Storage, 10 MB maximum file size, up to 3 members per Workspace, 7 days of Cloud Time Machine version history, and up to 3 login devices.
The Believer Plan is a one-time purchase of $499.99 that gives you lifetime personal usage of AFFiNE Pro, including everything in Pro plus 1 TB of Cloud Storage. It is a single payment with no subscription, designed for early supporters who want to back the project long-term.
Self-hosting terms depend on the edition, release and components you deploy. Open-source components do not require an EE subscription. The editor (BlockSuite) is MIT-licensed. Review the component licenses before deployment.
AFFiNE uses component-specific licenses. In v0.27.4, the root LICENSE applies MIT outside its listed exceptions. The backend/common-native terms assign MPL 2.0 to CE and specified client-side portions, and EE terms to the remaining covered code. Third-party licenses still apply. Check the terms for your exact release and intended use. Full source at github.com/toeverything/AFFiNE.
AFFiNE is a candidate for teams evaluating a self-hosted team knowledge base or corporate wiki. It combines documents, whiteboards and AI in a local-first workspace with an MIT-licensed editor. The Self-Hosted Team tier ($10/seat/month, billed annually) includes priority support, multi-admin roles and unlimited team members; check the selected plan’s current terms. You operate your own infrastructure, while external AI and connected services process data separately under their own terms when used. Before replacing Confluence, validate content and permission migration, governance requirements and integration workflows.
