What “runs in your browser” actually means
When you pick a file here, it is opened by JavaScript on the page you already have loaded. The bytes go from your disk into your own browser tab and no further. There is no upload step, no queue, and no copy sitting on a server waiting to be deleted.
You can check this rather than take it on faith. Open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and run any of the 26 tools. You will see the page load its own code, and then nothing else while your file is processed.
Three tools are the exception, and they are marked as such: the PDF, image and video translators. Translation needs a model that is too large to run on your machine, so the extracted text — not the file, not the images — is sent to be translated and the result comes back. Everything else on this site stays entirely local.
What that gets you
No file size limit. Most online tools cap uploads somewhere between 10 MB and 100 MB, because they are paying for the bandwidth and the storage. Nothing is being transferred here, so the only ceiling is what your own computer can hold. A 2.2 GB video opens fine on an ordinary laptop.
No waiting in line. Work starts the moment you pick the file. Compressing a 30-second 720p clip takes about 2.1 seconds; the same job on a site that uploads first spends most of its time on the transfer, not the work.
No account, and nothing to clean up afterwards. There is no sign-up, no email, and no file history, because there is no server-side copy for any of those things to point at. Close the tab and it is over.
No watermark on anything. Watermarks exist to sell the paid tier. The 26 browser tools have no paid tier — they cost us nothing to run, so there is nothing to upsell you to.
What it costs you
Doing the work locally has real trade-offs, and it is better to know them before you start.
Speed depends on your machine. A ten-year-old laptop will convert a large video more slowly than a server farm would. For small files the difference is invisible; for a 2 GB video it is not.
Video and OCR need a moment to get ready the first time you use them. After that they start instantly, and that wait never involves your file — it is the tool arriving, not your file leaving.
Nothing follows you between devices. Since there is no account, a file you converted on your laptop is not waiting for you on your phone. That is the same property that keeps your files private, seen from the other side.
What people actually use these for
Shrinking a scanned passport or contract to get under the 2 MB attachment cap that visa portals, job sites and court filing systems impose.
Turning a PDF that only exists as a scan into an editable Word document, so the wording can be reused without retyping it.
Converting the HEIC photos an iPhone produces into JPGs that a Windows machine, an older printer or a web form will accept.
Pulling the text out of a screenshot or a photographed page, in its own language, without emailing that screenshot to a stranger’s server.
Splitting a spreadsheet with forty sheets into forty files, or a long PDF into the three pages someone actually asked for.
Reading a contract, a manual or a paper written in a language you do not read, with the original and the translation side by side.
What is free and what is not
Twenty-six of the twenty-nine tools are free and will stay free. They run on your processor, not ours, so there is no cost for us to pass on and no reason to put a meter on them.
The three AI translators are metered, because each translation calls a model that costs real money to run. Five pages a day are free, with no card and no account. Beyond that a 30-day pass covers 1,500 pages for nine dollars — paid once, with nothing that renews and no card kept on file.
A page means 3,000 characters of source text, or one minute of audio. Pages that fail to translate are not counted against you.
