The short answer: Magic: The Gathering is the best-known M card game, while Mau Mau, Mao, Makao and Memory are the usual regular-deck answers. This guide gives players, deck and difficulty for 76 titles; 51 play in your browser with no download or sign-up.
We picked one game from each play loop instead of repeating near-identical solitaire and Memory reskins. Mau Mau and Memory are our ad-free versions with a real deck; the publisher-hosted picks may show their own ads.
Most of the Memory titles in the catalog use the same flip-two-cards loop with new artwork. These four change the rules: hidden bombs, cards that move, matching triples and a second player.
Game thumbnails show the promise; the first minute shows the real loop. These notes come from actual browser play, alongside a direct comparison of what the shortlisted games ask you to do.

Timed levels, not a relaxed game of Memory
A pair scored 100 points and moved the target counter to 1/3. The clock was already at 00:08, so this plays as a timed level game rather than a relaxed game of Memory.
Table tip: Look over the whole board before the first flip. The round is short, and the visible timer changes which pair is worth chasing.
Dragging a monster card into a dotted lane summoned it immediately. Its attack hit the opposing tower and the opening energy meter dropped from 4 to 0.
Table tip: Read the energy cost before you drag. A card can take your whole opening turn, so the first summon should answer the lane you expect to face.
Use this when the name on a thumbnail is not enough to tell whether you are getting a real card game, a patience puzzle or a game wearing a deck as a costume.
Drag monsters into lanes, spend energy and attack the opposing tower.
You want deck combat and can tolerate publisher ads.
