Reddit Comment Scraper

Export a whole thread to CSV, JSON or Markdown. Every reply opened, nesting and scores kept.

Works in Edge too. No account needed to export.

Which CRM do small teams actually stick with?

  • 214We left our CRM after the renewal doubled. Nobody warned us the intro price was for year one only.
  • 88Same here. Ask for the year-two price in writing before you import anything.
  • 31This. The export button was the first thing they hid when we tried to leave.
  • 167Honestly a shared spreadsheet plus reminders did 80% of the job for a team of four.

Reddit's total can include deleted comments and ones hidden from you, so we show both numbers instead of rounding up.

Why people use it

Every reply, not just the first screen

Collapsed replies, “load more comments” and “continue this thread” are opened for you, one request every 1.5 seconds so it reads like a person scrolling.

Every point in the brief has a source

The AI brief answers with comment numbers. The quotes you see are copied from your own export, with score and a link back to the comment.

No usernames, nothing kept on our side

Exports leave out author names. Threads stay in your browser for 30 days, or until you delete them, and never sit on our servers.

How it works

About a minute from install to your first file.

  1. 1

Add it to Chrome or Edge

Free, and no account to export. It only runs on Reddit and Hacker News thread pages.

  2. 2

Open a thread and click Export

It opens the hidden replies for you and shows how many it got as it goes.

  3. 3

Download, copy or get a brief

CSV for a spreadsheet, numbered Markdown for Claude or ChatGPT, or an AI brief that cites the comments.

What you get

The same thread, three ways. All examples here are made up.

o4m0p5t1abcxyz095What made us stay was the email sync. Logging calls by hand never lasted more than a week.

Also included: created and edited time, whether the commenter is the original poster, deleted or removed state, and a permalink. No usernames.

Who uses it

Where reading a whole thread saves the most time.

DTC and ad teams
Pull the words customers actually use, the complaints, the doubts and the exact phrases, into a spreadsheet you can mine for hooks and landing-page copy.
SaaS founders
Read what people say about the tools in your category, what made them switch and what they would pay for, before you build or set a price.
Claude and ChatGPT users
Paste a whole thread as numbered Markdown instead of a screenful, so the answer can point to the comments it comes from.

Questions

More in the help center.

Is it allowed to scrape Reddit?

Reddit's User Agreement doesn't allow scraping without its written consent, and we don't have a deal with Reddit. Comment Scraper only reads the thread you have open, in your own logged-in browser, when you click, at a slow pace. That is close to normal reading, but it isn't approval from Reddit, so keep exports for your own research and follow Reddit's rules. More on Reddit's terms and the court cases.

Can my Reddit account get flagged?

It can. Since August 2026 Reddit has been warning some accounts it suspects of running scripts. We space requests 1.5 seconds apart, stop when Reddit slows us down, and cap how many threads you can export a day. Heavy use still carries some risk, so don't use an account you can't afford to lose.

How many comments can I export?

Free covers up to 1,000 comments per thread and 30 threads a day; Personal goes up to 5,000 per thread. Every export shows how many comments we got and how many we know we didn't.

Does it work on old Reddit and Hacker News?

Yes. It works on thread pages on www.reddit.com and old.reddit.com, and on Hacker News item pages. You need to be logged in to Reddit; we don't try to get around that.

Where does my data go?

Exports are made and stored in your browser. Comment text only leaves it when you ask for a hosted AI brief: it passes through our server in memory to the model provider and is not stored.

Try it on the next thread you'd copy by hand

Install, open a thread, click Export. It takes about a minute.
